Woooop provisionally accepted. This whole super fast response thing really builds goodwill towards Duke, I think.

I wrote neither. In retrospect, probably a stupid decision, but it didn't hurt my app apparently.kevin0201 wrote:To those who are provisionally accepted,

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Ok, so i thought I had a solid "Why Duke" written. When I went back and looked at it I saw that I had structured a sentence like this: "The thing can help with this; however, it can also open doors to that, or be useful if I wanted to practice this."
Pretty sure I have an inconsistent tense somewhere there. The "wanted" should be a "want", right?
Auto-Ding?

You worry too much. No auto-ding.pulstar1 wrote:Ok, so i thought I had a solid "Why Duke" written. When I went back and looked at it I saw that I had structured a sentence like this: "The thing can help with this; however, it can also open doors to that, or be useful if I wanted to practice this."

Yup, wrote both. But I had something to write for both. If I didn't have a legit reason to write the Why Duke I don't think I would have.kevin0201 wrote:To those who are provisionally accepted,

i disagree that you're worrying too much. IMO they will probably not only reject you, but also spread the word and blackball you at other top schools. enjoy cooley hthpulstar1 wrote:Ok, so i thought I had a solid "Why Duke" written.
