Okay now you can stop ignoring the poll. We'll do one on employment next; I like that one!

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Lots of people apply with December scores. I think it would be worth it to at least apply, and then if you underperform you can reevaluate.danmcc413 wrote:Hey everyone - checking in with a quick question. I'm taking the LSAT this September and hoping to apply as soon as I get my score back as a K-JD, but assuming I don't get the score I want and retake in December, do you think it's a waste of money to apply late in the cycle like that and I should just hold off and work a year? Even though I'm confident in the work I've been putting in, I figure it doesn't hurt to have contingency plans in order. Thanks, and good luck to everyone else applying!
I feel you on the contingency plan thing. I took February half-expecting two retakes haha

Does anybody else really enjoy getting fee waivers, even if they're from TTT schools? It's nice to feel wanted.

Thanks! It actually went pretty well - I have something down on paper at least, and I think some iteration of it will probably end up being what I apply with.smccgrey wrote:Good luck! Let us know if brute force gets you anywhere!xylocarp wrote:Trying to brute force a PS rn. Wish me luck c/o 2018
Also, what poll do we want next?

Why are YLS and SLS together while HLS is separate?

I'm one of two in the Duke/NW/Cornell range. Obviously I am very excited about the idea of attending any of the T14, but realistically NW and Cornell are the places I have the best chance. Cornell has the largest Native American population of the T14 and that is a huge plus for me.

Yeah, NALSA was recruiting hard at our diversity weekend. They made a brochure and everything. Hope you get in.Dream_weaver32 wrote:Cornell has the largest Native American population of the T14 and that is a huge plus for me.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about Cornell. (That goes for everyone else, too.)

I'll also try to keep an eye out for questions I can help with in this thread. I ended up applying to all of the T14 last cycle, so hopefully I can help out with questions about those schools.
I should have a fair amount of free time this summer and I enjoy editing stuff, so if anyone wants an extra set of eyes on their PS/resume/addenda/whatever, feel free to PM me!

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Thanks for the awesome offers of help, everyone! I'm sure we'll be asking. Right now I just need help redirecting energy spent refreshing TLS and the NYT to writing another PS draft...
Does anyone know if app requirements (essay length, optional essays, other weird questions, etc.) from last year are listed anywhere in easily accessible fashion? I opened a few of the apps for reference while they were still available but it's confusing/annoying to search through them for the requirements (I was going to copy/paste some questions here but LSAC keeps claiming I'm logged on somewhere else, so I give up for now). If this exists it would be an awesome resource!

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
I might be wrong, but i'm sticking with 2 pages double spaced for my PS, and 1 page double spaced for all the additional essays. Was the trend I picked up on perusing through schools websites.everything_bagel wrote:Thanks for the awesome offers of help, everyone! I'm sure we'll be asking. Well good luck on the LSAT! And I'm sure someone else will join you in the poll hahasmccgrey wrote:Winston1984 wrote:Skeptical.. Haha, jk. Do you have a reason to stay in DC?smccgrey wrote:Hahaha I'm still the only one who wants to go to Georgetown...

Hahaha I know, I know... I'm currently in Montreal actually, but yes, the reasons are more personal (Half of my US family members are in DC, plus husband's employment, plus I'd like to live there more or less permanently). Also my uGPA is a shitty 3.15 and the only other t14 likely to take me is NU. I don't have an LSAT score yet, but unless it's literally 180, I think my chances of getting actual money from anywhere beyond the NDCG range are slim to none.
