Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
lol i was partly joking just because of the "omg i fucking bombed" fallout that everyone goes through immediately after each exam...But yeah it's unnerving to walk out of an exam and then slowly realize that you missed/mis-argued certain issues and such. Finals for the b-school kids are mostly a formality since their success depends more on prior work experience and networking.HYSenberg wrote:Finals not going well?cusenation wrote:don't come to law school...go to business school instead.
But yeah if anyone has real concerns about the unique stresses of law school then PM me, I'll tell u what I can based on my knowledge as a lowly 1L...And feel free to reach out to the more wisdom-ous 2Ls and 3Ls as well. WashU has some extremely helpful sages that are more than willing to answer your questions honestly. One of them told me WashU was a bad choice for me my first cycle, so i took a year off, and got included in the full-ride bail out...so yeah...I never stop being grateful and relieved for that one PM i sent out after submitting my deposit that first cycle.

<3. Going to a T20 school for free can't be so bad. Also, I'm sure you did fine

Doesn't sound like it's an interview that you should have high anxiety over though. I'd personally just do it on the 23rd and get it over with.burtmacklin wrote:Damn there's like no available interview times lol, I can choose between the 23rd, 26th and 27th but I don't want that anxiety around my holidays haha

The interview is nothing to stress about at all, honestly. I probably did too much research for it, if anything. And cuse, I'll allow you to complain about finals ITT. It's relevant to my interests

Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
The Dean referenced a few notable things about my PS and asked why WUSTL/StL and what kind of law I wanted to practice. I gave those answers and probably talked too much in my responses haha. She seemed really cool and I don't think anybody would have an issue getting along well with her.
Edit: It is worthwhile to bring up a few questions for her as well. I, for one, asked about the high number of WUSTL grads who obtain school funded positions and the reason for that statistic, which I believe she answered very cogently (i.e., it is a temporary measure for those entering the public sector post graduation in order to not have a gap in their resume).

My WUSTL interview was a pleasant experience which went well a week ago but still no decision (boooooooo). Not expecting much because I'm below both medians and an acceptance would blow my mind. I was told that my work history and PS grabbed their attention so it is safe to say that WUSTL really does go through applications holistically. Would love to attend but am glad to have had the chance to interview.

Interviewed today and Krystal Orr alluded to an acceptance by the end of the week!
Interview was low stress and quite pleasant

On top of this, come with at least 1 question of your ownHere are a list of reported questions/topics that other students have fielded:
- If you are a splitter, be prepared to address the lower number.
- Why law school? Why WUSTL?
- Why did you choose your undergraduate institution?
- Why did you choose that major?
- Be prepared to discuss your personal statement and resume.
- Have you ever been to St. Louis?
- Have you ever lived outside of <your hometown>?
- How do you feel your second BA/master/professional degree compliments your first?
- What area of law interests you?

Interview (Phone) Complete. Very pleasant woman, very light interview. Told that application would now be sent to admissions and that I may hear back soon. Positive experience, very much interested in this school.

I am interviewing soon myself. I hope they don't tell me something generic about my admission decision.manuadferrum wrote:Interview (Phone) Complete. Very pleasant woman, very light interview. Seems like a few people were told they were admitted, or admission was strongly hinted at, during the interview.
Hoping I fall in to one of the latter two categories. Waiting for a decision after the interview is probably even more nerve-racking than it already is.

I have a new item appearing in the "Mailings" section of the status checker. It has no description but has a recent mailing date. Any idea what this is? I haven't interviewed yet but I have picked a date for it.

Is it an otherwise blank line with the same date as your interview request? That's what I have and I'm assuming it's just the interview request email.objection_your_honor wrote:I have a new item appearing in the "Mailings" section of the status checker. Hey guys!
So I just got invited to an interview. Is telephone okay? Like for people who got accepted... did you do in-person or skype?
I'm assuming in-person means in St. Louis which is an impossibility for me - busy season at work! And I'd far prefer telephone to risking technical difficulties with Skype and what not.
Thanks!
