UVA waitlist update email just came in. It wasn't really encouraging. It did say they anticipate to send out more offers, but it didn't suggest they were interested in me . So sad.

I got the same email.

Probably read this thread, saw people freaking out about not hearing from her when she promised, then wrote an email and sent it before 12 AM so she could not be accused of being a liar by the TLS crowd.

I found the message kind of promising, actually. The very fact that they're still planning to make first-pass offers next week—which doesn't seem to have been the case at the same point last year—strikes me as a good sign.

Not a guarantee by any stretch, but there's hope yet.

It might have been an auto-email set to be sent out after all the offers had been made.

Someone just checked into the spreadsheet with a new acceptance (170/3.6). Guessing they've started making calls again?

It looks like Dean Richard is out of the office today, which might explain the absence of acceptances. Best of luck tomorrow folks. I would love to see all of you this fall in Charlottesville.

I don't think so. Pretty sure UVA is like Columbia in that they prefer a slow, tortuous death rather than a swift and merciful one.

Looking at previous threads, at least in 2011, they began releasing people from the waitlist (ie WL-ding) in mid-May. Don't know if they still practice this, though.

Just received a call after phone interview last week (with no offer of admission). I am in today off of the wait list.
Have until May 15th to decide.

Those who are getting in off the WL should either
A. Post their stats.
B. Indicate their stats are in profile.
C. Indicate they will only reveal stats via PM or not at all.

I am a true splitter: LSAT/170, GPA/ 3.3.
I was called for an interview last week and received no offer of admission. I assumed that since all TLS posters were getting offered admission with their phone calls, that they were not impressed with me. I was a really discouraged camper after that. But today they called back and offered me admission. Good luck to all !

If the great 170 wall has truly fallen then I expect a TON of movement as they will start going after all the 169/3.7 types. I have been saying all cycle that I think a median drop is probable but UVA might actually be immune because of their increased generosity, the fact that "retake, ED UVA" is a real thing that many people will do (oftentimes foolishly IMO, especially this cycle), and their impressive overall game.
