I have been in this "hold" category since 12/27/2011 and have heard nothing from them since. I did contact someone (whom I had communicated with prior) from their admissions office toward the end of January to provide them with an updated resume and a LOCI (letter of continued interest), but my conversation with him was brief and to the point. He advised that they would begin "re-reviewing" these applications in February...which is the only thing the letter from December had alluded to.
While they say they will "begin" their "re-review" in February, I personally don't think that means much. I feel like they will treat our group very similarly to how they would treat a standard waitlist (i.e. they may begin looking at our applications again at some point during this month, but the decisions they send out to us could literally come at *any* time...).
I don't want to be pessimistic, but my experience with law school applications over the past several months is that the admissions offices all work at their own pace...reviewing the applications in an order that is based on the strength in the applicant's #'s (BOTH GPA and LSAT). This is frustrating for a "splitter" like myself who has a solid LSAT score, strong "softs", but a lower than average GPA. It seems that while the lower-than-average GPA may not preclude me from admission to many schools...it will ABSOLUTELY delay the admissions offices' decisions on my file.
Are you in a similar boat as a "splitter"? Just curious. UA is the only school who placed me on any type of "hold"... There are 2 other schools to which I've applied that have not even made a peep since receiving my application at the beginning of November. Best of luck to everyone on here who has yet to receive a decision - and of course, I wish the best of luck to all of those who are in a similar situation to my won with UA and any other schools of interest.

Waiting for decisions is by far the most difficult step in the process to becoming a law school student. However, let's all hope that the time they take is to diligently review all of the files so that they select the best fits for their schools...
Didn't they say we would start hearing in February??
