Re: University of San Diego 2015
Folks beware before you come here:
The school is ok and the teachers for the most part are good, but SD has a horrible legal market and a very limited limited geographic reach. Do not go thinking big law or that you will have a portable degree.
If you want any more information PM me.

I think it's safe to say that nearly all markets right now are bad legal markets. That's just the nature of the industry right now. But if you are a specialized person, you're going to have more marketability and that shouldn't deter people from applying and attending, but act as just a normal safeguard when choosing where to go.jarofsoup wrote:Folks beware before you come here:

Oh that's awesome that they let people switch to PT. I had never heard of that before!fashiongirl wrote:Ahhh! Good luck mkat! Finally some movement on the PT front.
Pleasye - The 1L at USD mentioned that some 2Ls like to switch to PT so they can work during the semester. I think it's great that they are flexible though!
Good luck mkat and all other PTers (because I think this means good news for all of you

In today. (163/LSDAS: 3.53, Bachelor's 3.73). I got a call from my parents (where all my mail goes), so I was wondering if I have to apply separately for scholarship money, or they send another letter? Thanks for any help.

A mid sized firm in San Diego has 10-15 attorneys while a mid sized firm in LA has 80-100 attorneys........just pay attention to rank, but also consider the market before you attend.

For those asking, my scholarship letter came in the mail a few weeks after my acceptance. I did not fill out their financial aid app or the FAFSA before they sent it to me.

My year (last year) had about 25 PT'ers. I believe the normal number was 40ish. Not sure why my year was such a small group.BearsGrl wrote:When did you go complete?wynner wrote:IN!!! 147/157/155with 3.7 GPA

Re: University of San Diego 2015
Okay big question here.
I'm trying to negotiate a scholarship, but I've gotten mixed messages about which email to correspond with. lawaid@sandiego.edu told me to email JDinfo@sandiego.edu. JDinfo@sandiego.edu told me to email lawaid@sandiego.edu.
Has anyone had successful negotiations? Also, which email did you contact to do so?
Thanks in advance!

The reason I chose the PT program was because my boss suggested I apply so I could keep working for her. Buutt I'm kinda torn btwn doing that and going to a higher ranked school. Any advice on whats better in the long run...going to a T30 school or USD and getting a lot of work experience?fashiongirl wrote:Congrats! You have high #s for PT. IN via snail mail today!
PT 156/3.49 nonURM
Went complete 11/4, decision rendered 2/15
Really surprised about this... But even more excited! USD PT is ranked higher than Loyola's, too! Not expecting much $$$, but I'm definitely considering attending. Thought I would be an auto-ding, so this is just awesome! Anyone going to the admit student event in March?

Did you apply to PT only or mark the option that you would consider both?

Re: University of San Diego 2015
I got an email from USD a few days ago asking for my updated Fall transcripts. I had never heard them doing this, I kinda thought I was good to go for this school. I applied way back in late November. Anyone else get this email. I did good Fall quarter so hopefully this pushes me over the acceptance edge!
Oh also they sent me another email like 5 minutes after that one saying to disregard the first email because I had already submitted my Fall transcript to LSAC a while ago.

Do we know how rejections differ from accepts? I thought they didn't send out WLs until later. I thought SD operated their lists different in that people that heard up until maybe mid-March or so were accepted and then around mid-March and beyond, people were WLed or rejected?fashiongirl wrote:Ahhh I already commented on your LSN but congrats again!
