Waitlisted as well. 161/3.52 GPA, what was everyone else's numbers?

Also, any slim chance that one could be accepted with a scholarship offer after being waitlisted?

I got waitlisted with 3.5/155 (my LSDAS GPA just got updated) after I got admitted with money from higher ranked schools. I'm urm though. I'm probably going to retake the LSAT in June and hope for 165. I froze on the reading comp on test day.

There was a lot of talk in the last few cycles of a "preferred waitlist" and a regular waitlist. Does a preferred waitlist exist this year?

I spoke with admissions and they said that have begun the process of giving them out. The majority go out from now until April. However, they have given out scholarships as late as August.

I hope I'm one of the early ones.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't think so. I ran a Google search for this past year and the most recent use of the term "preferred waitlist" for any MD thread on TLS was last year. I'm assuming they've done away with it for this cycle (thank God).

I hope I'm not crazy, but I'm feeling pretty optimistic about our chances. From what I see on LSN, most people on Maryland's waitlist are admitted eventually. But again, this is just from what I see.

Only five people on LSN who were waitlisted last year were eventually accepted. Are you sure you are not counting all the "Accepted W" as waitlisted and then accepted? That W stands for Withdrawn application, not waitlisted. There were quite a lot of waitlisted applicants in last years pool who did not matriculate.

Yeah, you may be correct, I may have been misreading it. It is interesting that Maryland seemingly doesn't WL/reject applicants

LSP told me I had a snowballs chance in Hell of getting in yet I was waitlisted. I'm personally feeling optimistic about my odds. I have some projects lined up to give me that needed boost. That, plus no preferred waitlist and fewer applicants this year keeps me hoping...

how busy/loud is the library? good place for studying?

There are 2 designated quiet rooms with no talking and no eating allowed.

I tend to study in the med school library. It's quieter than the law library most of the time because there are more places to get away from the crowd back in the stacks.

Library also gives out free ear plugs, which helps tremendously!

Are you assigned a lockable desk or a locker somewhere?
