I've been in review there for what feels like a decade now...really not considering them now, though.

Ya agreed... im pretty much set on where im going, so a Why MSU email might not be worth my time.checkster wrote:I've been in review there for what feels like a decade now...really not considering them now, though.

Just went from In-Review to Complete. Did most people get acceptance via phone call?

Mine went from "in-review" to "additional documents needed" (Why MSU essay), then to "complete-sent to committee for review"checkster wrote:Just went from In-Review to Complete. Did most people get acceptance via phone call?

Visiting MSU this week. What "must sees" do I need to check out in the area to get a vibe of the campus and town?

Re: Michigan State c/o 2015
Acceptance folder came today. Very weird, they are "kind of" offering a scholarship. The wording of the letter is very strange, it basically says "We think we can give you 50%, but we might not...so...yeah...come to MSU!" It was hard to even tell if it was really an acceptance letter.
Very weird, I didn't apply late, and I haven't seen any decisions like this. I did not plan on attending MSU even with a bigger scholarship, though, so its no big deal.

Sounds to me like they're waiting to see if people decline their scholarships before guaranteeing scholarships to late/borderline applicants. Good news, I guess for people who got in without money or who applied late.

Just got accepted via email, and the packet is in the mail. If I was awarded a scholarship would they have mentioned that in the email, or do they usually just include that info in the packet they send out?

Weird, I did not get an acceptance email, just the packet that came today.

Got a packet with ambiguous mentions of a full ride scholarship. Will probably withdraw soon to give someone else a possible shot at the "possible" money.

I was accepted back in December with 50% tuition. Withdrew this past week so hopefully that money will be tossed to someone on TLS! Good Luck

What is the significance of going from "in review" to "complete?" Does that mean a decision was made? I went to complete a couple days ago. How long does it usually take to hear something or update on the status checker? Thanks.

This is what happened to me and then about a week later I got the ambiguous scholarship packet and letter stating they "hoped" to be able to offer it to me.westcoast wrote:What is the significance of going from "in review" to "complete?" I received a similar packet. They hope to offer me a full-tuition scholarship. It says they will send an update regarding the status of the offer on April 3rd. I hope it works out.asanborn wrote: This is what happened to me and then about a week later I got the ambiguous scholarship packet and letter stating they "hoped" to be able to offer it to me.

Not sure about email admission offers, but when they called me, they told me about the scholarship over the phone.tdolsen19 wrote:Just got accepted via email, and the packet is in the mail. I will be there. I am pretty excited. For you guys that have gone already (to the previous "Admitted Students Day"), how did it go?

Accepted via email and phone call.
anyone else worried about the class of 2010 employment stats? only 43% had jobs that required bar passage. Not sure about going to a law school where less than half of the graduates actually become attorneys.

Not trying to "cover up" or anything, but you don't need the BAR for in-house council, and council-only positions. Either way, I don't really think it can be that different from other places.PhiAlphaFLBeta wrote:Accepted via email and phone call.

Honestly, if it weren't for the minor factor that MSU is in Michigan, I probably would have gone there. *sigh.*

Yes, but aren't "council" and "in-house" positions generally taken by those who have significant experience or are otherwise engaged in work, academic, etc. So, in essence, these "in-house council" folk have had employment in positions that required a bar-cert?lawgeekgrl wrote:Not trying to "cover up" or anything, but you don't need the BAR for in-house council, and council-only positions. Not necessarily. I know some people who went on to work for companies out of graduation. However, this wasn't meant to be advice or anything. Everyone should do what's best for them individually.
