Re: Duke c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
So, according to this thread and LSN, not a single PT applicant has been even WL'd by Duke. I suppose if the reasoning is correct, that this is a conditional acceptance, and so YP doesn't matter, that makes sense. Also, that they select only targets worthy of admission. But it's still a bit odd, no?
Also, unless others have fudged their numbers, I'm the admitted candidate with the lowest GPA so far. I'm a bit too proud of that.

Wait, I must've missed something in the application. What condition is a PT acceptance conditional upon?Yeshia90 wrote:So, according to this thread and LSN, not a single PT applicant has been even WL'd by Duke. If your GPA at LSN is accurate, we might be co-owners of that crown within the next week (knock on wood). In a related story, I'm an agnostic with exactly zero superstitions, and I literally just knocked on wood. This process is brutal.Yeshia90 wrote:Also, unless others have fudged their numbers, I'm the admitted candidate with the lowest GPA so far. I'm a bit too proud of that.

Look back in the thread. It is provisional only in the sense of legalese. Its just a theory I proposed, but it does seem accurate.baconpuffs wrote:Wait, I must've missed something in the application. AND it does show that schools in this range really are practicing YP, regardless of their continual denials. Whatever. As I said before, its a UNSWR caused problem and good for Duke. Sorta disappointing that a bunch of other attorneys and legal schools didn't find this inventive little run around to deal with the HYS issue.

Anyone know why someone with an LSAT well above the 75th percentile and GPA about at the 75th percentile wouldn't get a priority track invite, despite getting a fee waiver?

Duke can be strange with the PT invites. You'll get in - it'll just take longer.Schola wrote:Anyone know why someone with an LSAT well above the 75th percentile and GPA about at the 75th percentile wouldn't get a priority track invite, despite getting a fee waiver?

Do people respond to the acceptance email? Like, with a "thank you" or anything?
