I was after that, but I'm assuming that they are just wading through on a couple computers. I bet you hear today. The email isn't a big deal. Just tells you they got the application, they are excited to review them, that you will get your status checker info in about 3-4 weeks, that most decisions are issued within 10 weeks of that point but the rest will hear back by April. It doesn't even confirm that your application is complete, just that they've received information you have applied and data entry people are working on processing them. If your app isn't complete, you will know if you haven't heard back in 6 weeks and should then contact them.elibrarian wrote:Same. Getting antsy.sanetruth wrote:I sent in my app at 9am on 9/15. +1 and also +1 on the fact that Berk has not even requested the reports yet. Ugh! I could have just waited and sent it in later!Hawkeye Pierce wrote:I don't think anyone has heard back from NYU yet.

Does anybody know how to attach supplemental essays on the Michigan application?
I want to attach two essays (actually one essay and one addendum),
but when I first attach one essay, the screen changes, and I can no longer attach another.
I can only delete the first essay.
What do I do?

Submitted, with no additional essays (it was a little ridiculous to ask for 8...). No status checker yet. Good luck!

There were eight options, the instructions said to do one or two at most.Curious1 wrote:Submitted, with no additional essays (it was a little ridiculous to ask for 8...). No status checker yet. Good luck!

FWIW spoke with an Admissions Director at a LS fair yesterday and she stressed the importance of the Why Michigan? Essay. On another note she was lovely and not only did I score blue and yellow M&Ms (saving those for my break on the LSAT Saturday) but she gave me a fee waiver without even asking for my numbers!Curious1 wrote:Submitted, with no additional essays (it was a little ridiculous to ask for 8...). Hm. interesting. It's still possible to send those in right? Just write'em and send directly to the law school?

From their email saying my application was received:
"Once we receive the report and any information that you are sending separately (please be sure to submit that information as soon as possible -- email attachments are fine for most materials), your application will be processed by our data-entry staff. We’ll then submit your application for review."
I think you can email anything you decide to add after having submitted.

Is the Lawyer's Club for real going to be closed next year?
That is a really appealing factor for Michigan to me :S

I saw they were looking for another venue to keep it alive though during the remodel.2014 wrote:Is the Lawyer's Club for real going to be closed next year?

from what i heard on my tour, the lawyer's club is traditionally only popular among 1L's, because of it's dorm-like style and having to share bathrooms and what not. The renovations, then, are apparently going to make it more appealing to 2L's and 3L's, which means you might still get to experience it.
Also, i heard what the above poster said as well.

Another venue? What's Michigan going to do, lease Sterling 411 Lofts, or Zaragon Place, and save the whole property for law students?MumofCad wrote:I saw they were looking for another venue to keep it alive though during the remodel.2014 wrote:Is the Lawyer's Club for real going to be closed next year?

Re: Michigan c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
It sounded like they were looking into doing something like that actually - renting a huge chunk of a space somewhere close to campus. It is mentioned in Dean Z's blog. I'm not familiar with Ann Arbor so I don't if the places you mention are the ones she referred to (or if she even named names).Kurst wrote:Another venue? Dean Z did not identify any prospective locales. She was just horrified at the living conditions of her law students (except the Coltrane guy with a bottle of corked wine).
Did you get your Darrow yet? Should you turn down YHS, there are some nice 5-bedroom houses in Burns Park waiting for you.

It looked so nice though to be able to eat there for any given meal and the obvious factor of being able to meet and spend time with friends without having to drift around Ann Arbor.sanetruth wrote:It is, BUT...2014 wrote:Is the Lawyer's Club for real going to be closed next year?

I'll be watching closely to see what they replace it with because the LC is kind of the collegial atmosphere that they are selling embodied in a building and the experience would probably be different without at least the option.

I wonder what she would think dropping by my house unexpectedly? Actually, I've obviously read her blog so I think she'd be sympathetic. We share a tendency to wash clothes and then not put them back in their respective places. A family of 4 = mounting piles of clothing similar to that experienced by a freshman in college. Sigh.

FWIW, I think AA is a great place to raise a family, so if I were in your situation, I'd accept the Darrow (when you get it) over T6.

This, too. From the T14 cities, only Charlottesville can compete with Michigan when it comes to CoL.Hawkeye Pierce wrote:Another great thing about Michigan is the low cost of attendance!

Thanks! Yeah, I feel the same way. I am really going to be wrestling if I get good admittances and great money from some schools. Charlottesville is a great city too, so we'll see where the money falls between the 2 because either is preferable to the bigger cities. I'm also a medium-size city gal. Maybe the schools will help me make the decision easier!soj wrote: Haha, good to hear adults do this too.
