Everything is so literal. Every phrase people say has only one meaning, and that's the literal one. All text is God-breathed and not amenable to interpretation.

In a court of law, of course, the person firing is accountable, but the real culprit (because there is justice outside of the law's prescriptions)--the one that, if apprehended and forced to cease its ways, would actually cause a major net decrease in murder--is the company that prices bullets at $3 for 20 and sells assault rifles/magazine extensions to anyone. Just as it has to be acknowledged that the socioeconomic conditions that make violence profitable are to blame at root, rather than the agent of the crime. Of course, we can't indict "the system" and our country sees no problem with the ammunition issue, so it's a case of treating a symptom vs. treating a problem. There's no socioeconomic element in our original metaphor and no real tangible gain that motivated me to shoot, but damn those cartridges horror provided were cheap.

Wait, I thought that for Early Decision, the application only had to be received by the 15th (meaning, we have to send in our application parts via LSAC) and completed by the 1st of December (meaning, LOC and CRS stuff had to be recieved). Am I wrong?

I think he may have been referring to the bottom 25th percentile of admissions statistics as in the bottom 25 of LSAT and GPA. If he is referring to URMs as the bottom 25th of 1L then I agree that this conversation should be stopped.

Currently working on my UPenn application and I am applying ED.

I have a diversity statement, an LSAT addendum, and writing the lit essay. Should I write the 5 year plan or would that be overkill (esp. since I am ED)? Would writing the five year plan essay be better than writing the lit essay? I think I could probably do a better job with the lit essay, but I have heard Penn likes the 5 year plan one....any advice?

Yes & yes. I used it as more of a "Why UPenn?" but ended it with how UPenn would contribute to my 5 year plan.

Thanks for the opinion guys I decided to just not mention it because it was already kind of implied
