For the remaining apps, print them on paper and read before submitting. That way I caught more errors than I would have on-screen.

You look like you got a good shot at CLS though
Be sure to check for a hidden waiver- I didn't realize I had one until yesterday.

Are hidden waivers random? or what's the criteria? do you have to register? Can someone please explain this

I think the criteria are the same as not-hidden fee waivers- they're just given based on your numbers. Why they don't inform you they are there is a total mystery to me.

I think you'll receive a letter inviting you to apply with a fee waiver along with some info on the school at some point. I'm pretty sure I got NYU's after I applied, which was mid-November. I don't know why it doesn't come faster, but I think most people receive a letter.

So I submitted my app this week and when I went to go edit my NYU PS for another school, I realized that the draft I ended up sending was not my final draft. One sentence was before the sentence it was actually supposed to be after (the paragraph still makes sense, but not as much sense as the other order) and a few other little things (not italicizing the name of a poem I wrote about in one paragraph, but italicizing it another) were off...
Should I send them an e-mail/call them and ask to submit the correct edit, or just leave it as-is and cross my fingers that these are insignificant details an adcomm would most likely not notice or care about? Would bringing it to their attention be worse than leaving it alone?
Thanks, TLS!

Send them an email with the updated PS and request to have them update your file with it.

Application submitted! Good luck to everyone else; let's hope for a splitter friendly cycle (I sure am).

I am hoping for that as well. I looked at your profile and saw we are very similar in stats, so I'll be curious to see how this progresses for you.
Good luck!

How bad do you think it would be if I ED with only one rec? I mean, my chances are slim as it is, so how much more would it hurt?

Hey, so I applied on Tuesday (Oct. 25) and haven't gotten the application status checker login info yet. Every other school I applied to last week has sent me this email. What's going on?!

Yep, my sis got in to NYU in 2006 with just 1 rec, but I sent 3 this year.

Looks like that was post number 180 for you.
A good omen, perhaps?

He doesn't need good omens with his numbers...but perhaps he should've saved that post for Yale

I'm in the same situation re: the deafening silence from NYU post-submission. No confirmation email or status checker message. Same with UMich. Do these schools just not have their acts together?

Do you think this would keep an ED app from going complete before the 15th?
Also, I haven't heard a word from Mich either.

Got the status checker this morning, says my application is being processed with a date of 10/27/11 (when I initially submitted). I have 0 chance for NYU (171, 3.53), but I figured why not apply. I got in undergrad, but chose not to go, maybe they'll still want me.

Thats not
zero chance...or maybe I'm just fooling myself because my numbers are close.
