Re: Status Checker Addiction Cure (Hopefully)
I've been having an issue where I'll start up the application and it doesn't have my school choices/login info saved, so the Status tab is just blank. If I restart it, it'll often remember my school choices, but even then a lot of times I have to reenter my login info, and it has to reload everything. Not really a huge deal, except then I have to go through all of the checkers manually to make sure nothing's changed since last time. I'm using it on OSX, fwiw.

Any change you will release the source so others can work on it?

Re: Status Checker Addiction Cure (Hopefully)
I had planned on it but probably not. Law school makes you paranoid. I'm constantly worried about being sued or prosecuted under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, so I'd rather have it in a form I could readily obliterate if necessary. Website scraping is not looked upon favorably, and I remember two years ago when I was using someone else's consolidated status checker on the web and LSAC threatened them with legal action if they didn't take it down. I keep waiting for that to happen.monkeysez wrote:Any change you will release the source so others can work on it?

For some reason the "Refresh All" button is alllllllllll the way down. It's no major problem at all, it's only annoying when I have to wait for it to finish loading before I can eagerly scroll up to see what the statuses of the schools are.

I can imagine, haha. I'll have to think about that, I'm not sure what would be causing that problem.pret wrote:For some reason the "Refresh All" button is alllllllllll the way down. UT- Austin has its own through their own websiteshatra wrote:So I apologize for the Mac ignorance, but is there no minimize button? Or does it work differently than I'm used to in Windows? In the windows version when you minimize it goes to the taskbar, and when you close it, it closes. Is it working differently in the Mac version? I need to make a friend in Chicago with a Mac or head down to the Apple store!coreno16 wrote:Just downloaded this for mac. Works on my system without a hitch thus far. I posted a comment on the site about the only issue. Closing the window closes the program.
Thanks again
I've updated it (but not released just yet) to include all the schools I could find status trackers through rank 100, these are the ones I couldn't find:
UCLA
U Texas-Austin
George Washington U
Boston U
Emory U
U Notre Dame
Indiana U - Bloomington
U North Carolina
Arizona State U
U Colorado - Boulder
UC Hastings
U Cincinnati
U Oregon
Syracuse U
U Richmond
U Missouri - Columbia
U Nebraska - Lincoln
Marquette U
These are the ones who don't seem to use an LSAC status checker:
Columbia
UMich
Northwestern
Vanderbilt
U Iowa
UC Davis
U Georgia
U Alabama
Loyola - Chicago
U Miami
If that looks right, then I'll go ahead and release it, otherwise let me know if I incorrectly list one as not existing and I'll add it to the program.
Indiana-bloomington its hard to find, i usually go through google and search for "maurer school of law status check"
Colorado-boulder- it does have one it is on the admissions tab of their website.
Hasting- Does not use one
Vabderbilt- it uses its own network that you can check once you make an appointment for the interview,
Northwester- It has a status check also use google to find it.
Loyola-chicago- it does have a status check but i do not recall how to look for it.
Hopefully this helps, the other schools i would not be of any help since i have not applied to them. Good luck
