That said, you're not getting in off that waitlist, lol. Getting out of the waitlist into an acceptance is less promising than getting out of Auschwitz.

lol. but, just because he got in off one waitlist, doesn't mean all waitlists operate in that way. that said, i would like to take this opportunity to apologize to anyone who was offended by my comment. sorry sealoquesea, sometimes i go too far, i'm the first to admit it. welcome to the internetz.hipstermafia wrote:What you mean is UChi > UMich > robotclubrobotclubmember wrote: Congrats on getting into your dream school, but U Chi =/= U Mich.

Poor analogies or offensive remarks aside, we should probably keep this on topic to avoid any deletion or locks.
Got off WL with deferral request for CO 2015. Good luck to those still waiting.

Do we have any sense of how many deferred applicants they, plan to accept off the WL? Seems like they do this every year. Also, can anyone speak to the, potential or likelihood of getting $$ in these circumstances?MyManKanye wrote:Poor analogies or offensive remarks aside, we should probably keep this on topic to avoid any deletion or locks.

Re: Michigan Waitlist 2011
The choice of whether to request a deferral is the hardest one I've had to face this cycle. I feel like I would have a good chance, but I really, really do not want to wait another year. If deferrals can get money though, that could be convincing.

I was told I would be considered with the rest of the 2015 applicants for merit aid. I'm not hopeful considering I was a WL candidate in the first place, but the option is there.

Did those who received deferrals specifically ask for them/make it known that their plans include not going to law school this year?

Yes, I made it known I had another opportunity for the intervening year and would like to be considered for a deferral. They won't offer unless you ask and have some sort of plan lined up for the gap year.

Has anyone sent a LOCI to the latest WL update email? If so, did you receive a response from the office?

I sincerely doubt it....I don't know why they would start a letter asking about your continued interest in the waitlist, mention the 2nd deposit deadline, and then reject you before said deadline.patallica22 wrote:Has anyone sent a LOCI to the latest WL update email? Not to say a rejection letter won't eventually be sent out, just certainly not yet.... Trying to stay positive

Do you think that's because they have too many responses (read: WL remains HUGE)? I hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me....I mean how long does it take to send a canned 'will be added to file' e-mail.

A canned 'will be added to file' email still worlds better than a canned 'you have been canned' email.fingersxd wrote:happyfeet wrote:sent a response as soon as i got the email and i just now got a confirmation. i think it's just taking them time to sort through the responses.

My response wasn't canned I'd say. She acknowledged in her response that they were thankful for me telling them I'd be interested up until the date that I told them I would be. So, they read it or got lucky.

Not trying to say I'm a special snowflake or anything, just that I didn't think the response was canned, which could explain why it took 2 days for them to get back to us.crossingforHYS wrote:mine said the same thing....Kabuo wrote:My response wasn't canned I'd say.
