Because they were just exploited for cookin' the books. This is what every other law school does, but... every other law school doesn't get caught. I just would have withdrawn my app as soon as I heard this news

I wonder why they felt the need to announce to the world of their lies? It just doesn't seem like a smart move. I'm sure they could have handled the manner without letting everyone know about it. Of course, I'm glad they did though...

Admissions staff will be fired, as well as anyone that was involved in this. It's not like we're going to lose our accreditation.
In other news, I'll be preparing my transfer app to Temple later this semester just in case the sky is really falling. Kind of surprised they wont even consider you if you aren't in the top 20% after 1L.

I have no idea what to think about all of this. With being held at my top choice, Nova is supposed to be second, now I do not know what to think. Hmm...

Apply to temple or Pitt and be done with it. I'd stay away from nova for sureEvrydyhonestliar wrote:I have no idea what to think about all of this. With being held at my top choice, Nova is supposed to be second, now I do not know what to think. Hmm...

Top 5-10% at Villanova will be fine and make $$$$. The other 90% are in deep shit. Stay away from Villanova. Temple should be your #1 choice if you want to Philly.

FTR, Villanova is one of the worst schools in the country in terms of rewarding strong applicants with $$$.

Do you think that this whole situation is what is causing the slow up at admissions?

I'm pretty sure I'm withdrawing my offer of admission to Villanova Monday...I called their admissions office 2-3 weeks ago with questions after I was accepted, left a message, and they never got back to me. I've been offered scholarships at other schools, and Villanova didn't give me anything. Hopefully someone who wants to get in off the WL will get my spot!

Re: Villanova 2011
my withdrawal letter will mention that and the lack of interest they show their prospective students
and by the way, dont think VLS announcing this publicly is them attempting to 'do the right thing,' they are simply trying to cover their ass for when the news eventually leaked out

I guarantee that is the case. I sent couple e-mails to the Director of Admissions regarding the delay in my decision, but have got no response so far. It is a silent wall. All other schools I am engaged, the admission directors are responding in one or two days max.oreo3405 wrote:Do you think that this whole situation is what is causing the slow up at admissions?

I'm sure our whole admissions department is about to get axed. They weren't fucking worth a damn to begin with anyway. No reflection on the actual quality of the law school staff, however, who are amazing.

I will be withdrawing today if I don't get some answers, and I will list the article (as well as the complete lack of communication) as my reasons for doing so. I have emailed twice and called three times and I have yet to get a response. I applied on November 15th and have not even gone under review yet.

Re: Villanova 2011
Just FYI, I went snooping on the site to see if anyone had been fired. The dean and assistant dean of admissions are no longer on the website, so presumably they have been fired. That would explain the delay, although it's certainly no justification. Further, the "walking" dean's (the temporary one) also does not have a faculty page anymore.irishvt14 wrote:I will be withdrawing today if I don't get some answers, and I will list the article (as well as the complete lack of communication) as my reasons for doing so. Same boat man, though I've already been admitted to other area schools, so presumably, Nova is out for me, either way...irishvt14 wrote:I will be withdrawing today if I don't get some answers, and I will list the article (as well as the complete lack of communication) as my reasons for doing so.
