I was UR from 1/14 up until today where a decision made, so it should only be a little while longer!
Unless you received an email too, I wouldn't get your hopes up....

Pretty sure I'll be withdrawing as well. Too bad; Maryland was my top choice, but I can't go on back of this degree of stinginess.

Why is that? I never received an email...just an acceptance letter in the mail.

I emailed the admissions office this morning telling of recent scholarships, etc., and kindly asking for some money (I just can't pay sticker when I could save almost 20k a year at Temple). They basically said that funds are low right now and that I wouldnt hear back until mid-May, "at the earliest". So now what do I do?

Also, they are not known to give very much money anyway. The ABA data days the average grant is 3-4K/yr.

does a Decision Made without an email mean anything? I don't know if I can take another rejection...

as soon as I checked my status checker just now to see it, I got an email from Maryland and my heart skipped a beat but it was some email inviting me to their receptions. I am so sad right now.

Well that sounds promising! Unless they're not admitted student receptions? I don't know, I didn't get the email, but I'm Decision Made, too, (as of tomorrow?). Been IR almost two months, I'm not expecting anything.

unfortunately it was not, it was just an admissions reception for prospective students so it looks something like all applicants received it. Man talk about the wrong place at the wrong time...

I think only people who got in got the email and a phone call. I got a phone call about the specific reception near me around 10.

Me too. Wish I knew, if waitlisted I'd try to be in NYC Monday for the reception.

i called and asked if the email was sent to everyone, and all she said was that it was sent to "specific people" and nothing further. But she also did point out that at the end of the email, under the disclaimer, it says that the email doesn't constitute a decision, etc. All she could tell me was that my decision letter was sent in the afternoon mail and I should expect it maybe at the end of this week. Oh well.

this is from 2007 and all, but it's a press release: http://www.law.umaryland.edu/about/news ... l?news=242

"All recently admitted students are invited to attend an Admissions Reception at the most convenient location. The receptions are hosted by School of Law alumni..."

My status changed to "decision made" and I received an email to prospective students. I'm kind of nervous though...even if I get in apparently UMD is broke :-/

thanks for digging this up. I mean, I'm not sure how much weight it holds but it certainly gives me hope since it's very similar language to the email as well as the locations

thanks for letting us know. I wouldn't mind a preferred waitlist myself, esp seeing how favorable it looks. But I'm sure those who were on the regular waitlist must have received this email too...

Depending on how I like UConn when I visit next week I'll be withdrawing from Maryland. Likely 99% I withdraw so good luck to you guys and hopefully one of you gets my spot.
