Re: University of San Diego 2011
One of the reasons I applied to USD was I heard that they're generous with scholly's, seems that more than a few acceptances with gret stats are still waiting on word.

Re: University of San Diego 2011
hopefully it means i'll get it in the mail soon? i'm sort of flipping out here, usd is my number one top top choice but if i don't get it down to a reasonable price there's no way it's going to be feasible for me. on the finaid paper that came with the admit packet, they did say that schollys were rolling (since i went complete a few weeks after you, i'm really hoping mine is on its way...)sabenser wrote:
I applied 20 Dec without a reportable LSAT, so went complete 10 Jan and DR on 21 Jan. I have nearly your same numbers and got the 24k, not sure what that means.
what would also move this process along i think is if anyone not planning on going would withdraw, and put some more funds back in their pockets to redistribute...

This may seem like a ridiculous question to those of you who are more familiar with the application process, but, as a newbie to all of this, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if DR on the application status checker for USD is a bad sign of things to come. The only school I've heard back from so far is Santa Clara, and on it's status checker it simply said "Admitted". My USD file went from Application Received (1/18) to DR (2/11), without ever having a Complete or Under Review status. For those admitted to USD, did the online status say anything besides DR?
Thanks for any tips

USD's status check goes straight from 'Complete' to 'Decision Rendered;' the decision information comes via US mail.hmmp22 wrote:This may seem like a ridiculous question to those of you who are more familiar with the application process, but, as a newbie to all of this, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if DR on the application status checker for USD is a bad sign of things to come. I wish all schools would act so quickly.

I got a scholly letter yesterday too, but mine is for 16k, for the first year only, but with no top 33% stip. Why would there be a difference?smittelman6 wrote:scholly letter came today!!!! 26k/year with top 33% stip....

mine was called a "faculty honor scholarship"... to be honest, i think i'd rather have gotten yours, only because the stip is pretty scary (but will definitely force me to study).thegreatk wrote: I got a scholly letter yesterday too, but mine is for 16k, for the first year only, but with no top 33% stip. Is the "school of law honor scholarship" different from the standard scholarship package or something?

Question to all:
Does your scholly offer come in the initial acceptance package? Or do you have to mail your financial info after receiving the acceptance package, and then get a scholly offer?
I have heard it can happen both ways, and would love feedback.
Thanks!

I just got accepted into the part-time program. Problem is, I didn't apply to the part-time program and I marked on my application that I would not accept admission into the part-time program. What happened?

Maybe it was a mistake on their part.

Dude me too! I got my accept on Saturday too. Must be their mistake. I assume with your numbers its just a typo too so hopefully it can be cleared up easily as opposed to having to start the review process all over...Bearlegdairy wrote:Has this happened to anyone else?

man that makes it sound even worse that I haven't heard back yet. Maybe they don't even see my app worthy of the PT program. Probably priming my letter for the right time to send dat rejection.

Just called. They said it was a glitch in the system and I am in full time. They are going to send me a copy of the correct letter. Probably the same for you! I wonder how many people this happened to...

Re: University of San Diego 2011
I got this email:
Thank you for submitting your application to the University of San Diego School of Law and for your patience with the Admissions Process.
On Friday, we encountered a glitch in our system that coded a small batch of full time students as part time and letters were mailed out with an incorrect division code. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We will mail an “updated” decision letter today.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
