ok... where do we start?
for one, i know from my cycle that just getting accepted at a school didn't mean squat to me until i found out how much money i was getting. in dean ethan's email, he told you, you're going to find that out when you get your acceptance, which, if your acceptance arrives in february, is a full month faster than i found out from any school in my cycle. so there's that.
for two, if you think emory is a school filled will homogenized students (the 3.7/167 automaton) you are sorely mistaken. frankly, hardly anyone here at emory knows about lawschoolnumbers or tls, and even the ones that do know of it give it about as much attention as it deserves. allow me to be your first data point. i am here and i did not score 166/167. emory takes outliers just the same as any other school. we have a strong heritage of diversity. did you know former dean ben johnson ('39) spearheaded a petition to strike down a georgia law causing higher ed. institutions to lose tax exempt status if they should integrate? this occurred in 1962. emory was not dragged into the era of equal protection, it led the way. in that vein, emory remains a super diverse and interesting place to go to school, in any way one can construe diversity; ethnically, religiously, geographically, socially, etc... please, i would appreciate it if you would ease off on comparing emory's students to a nondescript group of people who just happened to make some all-important cutoff.
for three, emory's admissions staff is the most responsive, friendly, hardworking staff i had the pleasure to meet in my cycle, and i met quite a few staffs. this was my experience. i'm sorry if yours hasn't been the same. but have you visited? did you reach out to the school prior to clicking "send" on lsac.org? if emory isn't living up to your expectations, i'm sorry about that. but give them a little time here. remember, you won't enroll until late august. that is over six months away. you still have plenty of time to settle up w/ your lessor and find a quality place to live, wherever you may go.
for four, i don't want to seem insensitive because i can remember all too well the stress of this process. i know for three solid months i got into a serious relationship with my mailman, just hoping the acceptances would roll in. it's tough, and i'm going to try to read all this as (at least most of) you all feeling very eager to get that acceptance and earnestly hoping emory will reciprocate the interest you've shown. hang tough. it will be worth it, and if any of you have questions about the school; or if anyone comes down here and would like me to show him/her around, please let me know.
L @ that Emory Admissions Email today. Submitted App in February and appears that I'm at no disadvantage to those of you who submitted back in October. Muahahahahahahahaha
