Quoted because this makes me respect APNS a lot more than I previously did. It generally fluctuates between a 1 and a 9 on the 10 scale, so consider yourself in the upper sections of that.APimpNamedSlickback wrote:i am really not in a position to consider myself entitled to any t14, let alone freaking columbia.crackberry wrote:On second thought, I might have faxed them my Harvard enrollment form and then sent a follow up email apologizing for the mistake.APimpNamedSlickback wrote:i took the subway to morningside heights and told them in person. afterward i broke into interpretive dance right in the middle of the admissions office illustrating just how little i think of their policies.crackberry wrote:Hey APNS - Whatever happened with the CLS withdrawal?
on balance, it went pretty well.
i lucked out, things went well, and i probably will just leave it at that.

Not all that surprising. Native American is a huge boost.

Re: I made it into my "REACH"
While I hope to post in this thread as a "reacher", I am on the waitlist at American...2.71/159. I felt that my PS was strong, and I have incredible LORs. Still waiting on other schools as well.

GPA: 3.96 , LSAT 163

University of Virginia
I applied in Jan. early decision. I was waitlisted and I sent an email emphasizing my continued and forever interest in the school.
Dean Trujillo called me today and said he changed his mind!!!! He said my email made him look over my application again and he offered me a spot (via early decision). So I'm complete for the cycle. Still can't believe this happened!!!

As has been already mentioned, Congratulations! This is a great story.Arlington wrote:Thank you all for the congrats.
This all just goes to show that sometimes the admissions officers do think about more than numbers and it is refreshing.
I had been so disappointed with my LSAT performance (as the tale seems to go, I was getting into the 170s on my PTs and just didn't cut it on game day) that I didn't think I could get in. In fact, I was happy to be WL.
I've work in the US Senate 3 years and really played up my work experience and academic successes. In the end, I think it helped that I talked about my unique experience growing up on a farm in NE with 10 siblings and (of course) expressed my undying love for UVa.
Well, I hope some others have the same luck that I did!

Any success with reaches for Columbia? I'm thinking about applying ED next cycle with a 4.0+ LSDAS GPA and a 169 (below their 25%)...

A 167/3.99 got in ED this year. A 168/4.1 got in without ED. You should be golden if you ED in September.123kl wrote:Any success with reaches for Columbia? I'm thinking about applying ED next cycle with a 4.0+ LSDAS GPA and a 169 (below their 25%)...
