For the impending wave, we have 1 slot on Tuesday, 11 slots on Friday, then 74 for the next week (now including slots every day).

Anyone from the Dec. 24 JS1 wave gotten a JS2 yet? If not, when do y'all think that'll be?

It's hard to say when unfortunately. My guess (although pretty unsubstantiated), is that the next JS2 wave will include mostly candidates from 11/24 and early-December - mix of above both medians and above one median with a few STELLAR candidates from 12/24. The wave after that will hit most of the 12/24 and early-January interviews.

All due respect Pylon (because you're very helpful and putting a lot of time and effort into this stuff, which is awesome and appreciated), but that has absolutely no foundation. Probably be good to hold off on a lot of the wild guessing, because some people read this thread without the healthy dose of skepticism it requires. You aren't responsible for them and their disappointment, but you can help by not adding fuel to the fire.pylon wrote:It's hard to say when unfortunately. Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I mean, the last wave we had was mostly those who interviewed in November and a few STELLAR candidates from early December. I don't think it's outrageous to say the next few waves would follow a similar pattern. It's not guaranteed but it's also not baseless. I also didn't say when we would get a wave, and I prefaced the whole comment by saying it was 'pretty unsubstantiated'.ikethegremlin wrote:All due respect Pylon (because you're very helpful and putting a lot of time and effort into this stuff, which is awesome and appreciated), but that has absolutely no foundation. ETA: Argus asked the thread when do they think someone from the 12/24 interview wave would get a JS2. Unless JS herself responds, there's no base to any response, especially as last years information is seemingly disregarded (rightfully so). Don't think my comment added 'fuel to the fire'.

pretty sure 0 tears have been shed irl because someone got passed over in a JS2 wave. No one can act on these speculations anyway, so even if all the speculation in this thread is wrong, it's completely harmless.ikethegremlin wrote: You aren't responsible for them and their disappointment, but you can help by not adding fuel to the fire.

People reading this forum are adults, and in the majority of cases they're adults who have pretty solid reasoning skills. I think we can trust them to heed Pylon's caveats and adjust their expectations accordingly.

A teeny, tiny part of me is a bit sad every Saturday morning because there won't be any app movement (short of yale, but lol).
The rest of me rolls over and hits snooze.

It's crunch time for them. When I had my interview they mentioned that they just have stacks and stacks of boxes of apps waiting to be read. Reading apps and is a ton of work, I'm not envious of them at all.pylon wrote:Whoa - that's a lot of interviews for just one week...HorseThief wrote:Total (min) = 478

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Well, they had ~6000 applicants last year, and my app at least is 8 pages long. That's ~48,000 pages, or 96 reams, or just about 10 full cases of paper. And there are 4 people in the admissions office? It really is quite impressive the amount of work they get done in such a short time.pylon wrote:Yikes, that's a scary visual...antiworldly wrote:It's crunch time for them. Anyone know if the office is open today? Pretty snowy in Boston right now and I know some UG schools are closed.

I assume they are there, they announced it last time they closed and the university is open.mujiali wrote:+1.curlietop86 wrote:giving me such JS1 hope!pylon wrote:Whoa - that's a lot of interviews for just one week...HorseThief wrote:Total (min) = 478
