Hey all, I'll be at the group interview in Boston. Anyone else going to be there?

Got an e-mail from them yesterday reminding me about the scholarship deadline that contained the line: "Please note that our office will be closed tomorrow for Good Friday."ssanonymous wrote:We SURE Gtown is closed today?

I agree that you should call the admissions office and be sure to indicate that you are still willing to have an interview and desire to have one but also are keeping their timeline in mind and wanted to let them know the scheduling difficulties you are having and inquire as to the best course of action.pjy6355 wrote:I got an in-person interview invitation on Mar. 6 from Georgetown.
I immediately said that I would be more than willing to do it, and it took about 2 weeks to get an e-mail from an alumnus.
We set a date for interview, but he had to cancel b/c he was busy with his work.
Several days have passed since then, but I haven't heard from him yet. So now I do not even know when I would do an interview.
In another time, I would not mind waiting, but I am getting nervous as April approaches.
I think that it would not be really good for me to wait forever for this interview b/c the school might be filling the spots with other students while I am waiting for the interview. And I assume that it would also take some time for the school to go through my application even after the interview.
So I was wondering whether I should just ask the school to go on with the review process or wait for the interview.
Any opinion or suggestion on this would be very helpful. Thanks!
In my conversations last October with them about interviewing they seemed very impressed with my desire to go above and beyond to set up an interview which definitely demonstrated my interest in their program.

Accepted via tiny envelope today. Not super serious about going but cool to get after a nasty string of waitlists. Any idea when $$$ tends to happen after acceptance?

I'm on preferred waitlist and have been abroad for the year (unable to interview). Since I'm back in the US for a month, would it be a good idea to contact admissions and ask for an interview?
I've already sent in a LOCI and a supplementary LOR.

I'm pretty sure I already know the (unpleasant) answer to this question, but I want to see what you guys think anyway. I applied to GULC in the beginning of January, did my in-person interview several weeks ago, and still haven't been accepted. The seat deposit deadline for those who have been offered scholarships is obviously tomorrow... I have reason to believe that normally, I would be accepted and receive at least a little scholarship money. But if I were to get accepted after tomorrow, would there still be any chance at me receiving a scholly from GULC? My gut feeling is telling me "no," but that small voice of hope is saying that maybe they could extend the scholarship seat deposit deadline, since they didn't get back to me before the original deadline.
TL;DR- If I get accepted to GULC past the scholarship seat deposit deadline (i.e., tomorrow), is it at all possible for me to still get offered a scholarship?

FWIW they do interview candidates abroad. I had mine two weeks ago. My interviewer said that if they can't find an alum in the area, they will arrange a Skype interview.

I don't see why not. In fact, it might work to your benefit to get accepted right after. There's sure to be a lot of scholarship money freed up come 4/2 when all the folks who didn't make seat deposits surrender their $$$.PRgradBYU wrote:I'm pretty sure I already know the (unpleasant) answer to this question, but I want to see what you guys think anyway. The site for the yellow form says that our university ID# can be found on the admitted students site, but I haven't been able to find it. I'd hate to email financial aid only to realize that the number is someplace obvious; does anyone know where it is?

When you log in it's under the menu on the right, under "Quick Links" - Your Credentials (NetID/GOCard)abadname13 wrote:The site for the yellow form says that our university ID# can be found on the admitted students site, but I haven't been able to find it. Thanks so much! That isn't listed under my "Quick Links" so I guess I'll have to shoot them an email.

If you were admitted relatively recently, you might want to wait a bit. Mine didn't show up instantly; however, I was admitted before the yellow form was available.abadname13 wrote:DittoFor some reason I only see "Home", "Calendar", "Change Username" and "Log Out" under the "Quick Links" section. Beyond that, might just want to contact GULC

Cornblatt did say there would be another chance for scholarships on April 4, so you can wait till then and seePRgradBYU wrote:You raise a very good point. Touché.risa wrote:I don't see why not. Yeah, tomorrow is just the deadline for the first round of merit scholarship offers. The rest of us might not be GULC's first choice, but money is money. Don't worry too much about it.

Nice, that's comforting. Thanks guys. Most of the T14 schools I've been accepted to this cycle haven't gotten back to me with scholly info yet, so I'm hoping for at least some $ from GULC.MacB wrote:Yeah, tomorrow is just the deadline for the first round of merit scholarship offers. Another word of advice. Don't expect a decent money offer from Georgetown. Just don't.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
