I would wait until you are actually waitlisted. Getting held in a situation like this is a lot different from getting held in a normal ED situation. The only possible exception would be someone who was competitive for the scholarship. A LOCI then can address possible weaknesses (such as the previous poster's sporadic WE) to increase chances of receiving a high initial scholarship offer. I'm curious to see if they will have a low ceiling for scholarship offers because of the full rides. IIRC, NU has typically maintained high scholarship ceilings, so perhaps this doesn't change the overall scholarship strategy much.JamMasterJ wrote:I think that's more a question for crumps. I love Northwestern's hilariously homemade holiday emails. This one is at least a little more complex than the turkey one.

Dammit, I wish they'd remember my existence and put me back on whatever mailing list is getting the holiday emails. I enjoyed them last year.
(When I deferred, they even requested my email address to "keep me up to date throughout the year" but I never got anything.)
I emailed admissions today to remind them I'm still here and want an AWS login. Hopefully they haven't lost my file.

P.S. Would you guys recommend sending in a Why NU statement now? And then a letter of continued interest if I get waitlisted? Thanks in advance!

NU just gave me a heart attack for Christmas. And a greeting card which is a nice sentiment now that I'm breathing normally again.

I think I can speak for everyone ITT when I say the BEST way to wish us a happy holidays is with an acceptance.

Anyone in here planning on choosing between NU and GULC if accepted to both?
I'm hoping to be in that position; it's going to be a tough choice. Anyone want to discuss?

I did not apply to GULC, but I am pretty aware of the situation. Questions?bbalcrzy23 wrote:Anyone in here planning on choosing between NU and GULC if accepted to both?

My impression is that, barring a large GULC scholly, everyone in here would pick NU.bbalcrzy23 wrote:Anyone in here planning on choosing between NU and GULC if accepted to both?
