This is anecdotal but my sister-in-law went with NYU with some money over Columbia and was very happy about it. She felt like the vibe was more relaxed and has done exceedingly well. It's not a bad choice to have.thecilent wrote:Still on hold with them. Prob would take the $ at nyu over them anyway thoughr6_philly wrote:Columbia?thecilent wrote:That's what it's looking like!

Re: USC 2011
It is a possibility, I know that much for sure. I have friends who received money i.e. 15K/25K per year [non-contingent] off of the wait-list in the early waves of WL --> acceptances. I have already posted too much accurate info about myself and cannot reveal my 'situation' any further than to tell you that much. LOCIs and subtle/friendly mentions of other schools' $$$ offers will never hurt your case.jwmalone87 wrote:Thanks! Not WL'd yet or anything, but I can sense it coming and want to get ready![]()
Just out of curiousity, did you get any money coming off the waitlist? How common do you think that is?

Re: USC 2011
Well, you can look at my profile to get an idea of my situation with BU/WUSTL/UMinn/Vandy/UC Davis/etc. However, I will say that you should expect more $$$ from all those schools you listed than from USC. Try http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com or http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com to get a better idea, if you haven't already. Also, sidenote, i have great respect for WUSTL as their adcomm chair gave me a personal 1:1 tour of the campus when school was on vacation and it was completely empty and then drove me around town for a few hours to look for housing and show me the town. USC's adcomms won't do that, but they're definitely very friendly compared to those at other schools i've visited besides WUSTL. What are your #'s [you can PM me this] and I can provide more detailed/tailored feedback if you'd like.flexityflex86 wrote:Waiting on aid too.
I am not going to get my package before I need to make a call on other schools, but I do prefer USC. What have people who have received aid apackages seen in relation to schools such as WUSTL,ND, Emory, etc.? I figure I will guesstimate off what people with similar #'s have, and go from there?
Also, do softs count or is it like WUSTL - all #'s? I know they said financial circumstances matter as well.

Agreed. I really did not think USC would be the last school I would hear from.krad wrote:Ohai USC, the last school of my cycle, the last socal option of mine... Would you like to pretty please give decisions those of us that are still waiting?

Re: USC 2011
Does anyone know the reply date of USC? I thought most schools would give us a decision before 4.1, but it seems there is no move on USC.....

I just called and they are looking to get all decisions out by mid-May.nakiko2003 wrote:Does anyone know the reply date of USC? I thought most schools would give us a decision before 4.1, but it seems there is no move on USC.....

I was also advised that their seat deposit date is 5/2 so I think that explains their timing ...

Re: USC 2011
Oh man, I did. One of my best friends went there for UG and she had to wait all the way til the end of May to be rejected last year. It's ok though USC, if you accept me in the end, I don't care if you make me wait until July.JenDarby wrote:Agreed. Complete 10/6 --> IR 1/26 --> IR 3/30. Splitter.
And I just emailed them on 3/28 to say I am visiting in two weeks. Maybe they want to reject me before I get to campus?
