I submitted 1/7 took a while to go complete because of transcripts.

It's Under review 1. I guess it's the same with Penn where they have this Under review 1 and 2. It can be seen on the date changes

I think on 3/2 the status checker readd "received" or something along those lines. (Not sure if that counts as a date change)
Then 3/5, and later 3/12. Fingers crossed they sent something in the mail..........
It seems like they are moving fast in processing the "last minute" apps like ours. Also, seems like ppl who had updates on 3/12 were either dinged or wait listed. But I think they all applied way earlier. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. It's all speculation in the dark at this point....

Mine says "application completed," and I have yet to have my interview (got the request a few weeks ago).

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
You only get date changes. People are using UR1 and UR2 and etc. to reference those date changes / how many date changes there have been.jettison63 wrote:So will the app status definitely change to UR1 or UR2? For some reason I was under the impression that "Application Completed" would be it, with date changes only.
Also, any thoughts on interviewing late applicants? I applied 3/1 and kind of figured an interview would not be happening.

Rumor is that waitlist and rejections are sent by email and acceptances are by mail, so if you've gotten your date change after the interview and no email....maybe it's an acceptance? Speculating, of course. Also hopeful because I'm in that boat. Been 2 days since my post-interview date change, and the anticipation is killing me.esrom55 wrote:Interview on Friday 3/14, and date change today (UR3).

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
So this is an extremely long thread so others may have had this problem but it's really frustrating me. Is anyone else having a lot of trouble scheduling their interview with an alum? I filled out the interview form 1/28 and it was about a month before I heard from anyone, and we still haven't met for the interview. It might happen tomorrow but my interviewer has disappeared after suggesting times several times before so I'm not getting my hopes up.
It's almost making me wish I'd just said no when they sent me the interview form. At least by now I'd probably have a decision (even if it is a rejection).

I filled my form out the same day as you and was finally contacted by phone late last week. Scheduled for next week. I'm kind of worried because many other applicants with my same initial interview request date have probably already had theirs...and I'm just hoping all the spots don't fill up before I can do mine.ler2017 wrote:So this is an extremely long thread so others may have had this problem but it's really frustrating me. It can definitely be frustrating, but with my numbers, I am just happy to be on their radar.
It seems like some people have had luck with calling Georgetown directly, and explaining the situation. They may try to match you up with someone different. I would call if your interviewer flakes out again. Good luck!

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
Thanks dobie! My interviewer finally nailed down a concrete time with me for tomorrow and I'm just looking forward to getting it over with after all this time. Just like you said I'm worried about spots filling up while I've been sitting here waiting. I was starting to get worried April would come and I'd just have to commit to another school before the interview even happened!dobie1 wrote:I filled my form out the same day as you and was finally contacted by phone late last week. Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
So I accepted the interview request a couple weeks ago but this was before I had gotten accepted to NYU. What I'm wondering now is if it is kosher to decline the interview after the fact because honestly I don't want to take the time and effort in preparing and driving into the city to interview anymore because I don't think it is likely I will go to Georgetown under my new circumstances, but I don't want to completely withdraw my application. I figure though that if I back out of the interview they will reject me though, what are all of your thoughts on this?

NYU is my first choice too, but I think it's always good to have options. Just my personal opinion, I don't like to close doors unless I'm 100% positive there's no benefitBravesCountry wrote:So I accepted the interview request a couple weeks ago but this was before I had gotten accepted to NYU. I'm in the same situation as you (and I think judging by your u/n possibly the same city as you too) and my interview is today though I was accepted to my first choice a few weeks ago. I'm going to go ahead and go through with it just as a courtesy to the interviewer because we've been going back and forth for a month trying to schedule this interview, and because maybe the situation will change and I'll end up being interested in Georgetown again.BravesCountry wrote:So I accepted the interview request a couple weeks ago but this was before I had gotten accepted to NYU. Does anyone know if they will release decisions by April first for those who applied by March 1st? I applied ED but GWU requires a deposit on April 1.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2017 Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I just had my interview, and I'm not sure if everyone's was like mine but it was pretty laid back and not extremely formal. I actually think I asked more questions than my interviewer did. She asked why I wanted to go to law school and if I knew what area I was interested in, and she asked some more specific questions based on my resume, but I asked a lot of questions about law school in general. It didn't feel as crucial as a job interview for sure. We talked about what to expect the first year of law school, how to approach extracurriculars, different options for after graduation. It was a very relaxed situation.kek5250 wrote:scheduled my interview! who's had one? any tips or tricks? what was it like?

Any international applicants here applied to Georgetown?
Does the protocol for ding or acceptance the same with intl app? I.e acceptance is received through mail while rejections on email?

In! Just in time to book a flight and hotel for the open house next week! Actually, probably not really in time since flights are gonna be crazy expensive now, but oh well.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
