Oh man, it sounds like I missed some fun drama.

I was talking to some construction workers the other day, they said early 2014 was very optimistic.inthebeginning wrote:anybody know when we get to use the new building? Will it be start of our 2L or 3L year?

Ajax,
This is an admissions waiting thread; people want to discuss their acceptances, denials and waitlists without having someone shit on their school. If you want to engage in such dialogue, please do so in another thread.[/quote]

Ajax sounds like that bitter 3L that posts here sometimes. I forget his name (clearly not important).
Also it sounds like ajax has been banned so I doubt we'll be seeing him here again anytime soon.

Any waitlisters see any movement? I applied back in September (wait listed 12/1 and status change 7/2)...it's humbling to realize almost a year has gone by. Still thankful the opportunity/chance still exists (trying to ignore Ajax's earlier posts). To those still waiting....hang in there! To those already accepted...congrats!!

My role is not to convince people to attend Fordham, and regardless I would never do that any way. If ADMITTED AND ATTENDING students need assistance through 1L, that's what I provide, out of the sheer goodness of my heart (and fine, one free burrito a semester).
Forget the burrito, I would take you out for an entire stone bowl of guacamole and chips at Rosa Mexicana if you helped me!
It's been a while since my last post, but since I accepted at Fordham, I received a full scholly from BLS and randomly from Rutgers which I did not apply to. The weak economy certainly is making it's effects felt on law schools.

I have good news for the waitlisters still out there (terrible news for me, but, I'd rather not go into details here), another space is about to open up.
Due to a change of circumstances in my personal life (which is impacting my financial life) I cannot attend Fordham this semester... I've already dehydrated from the crying.
Last Monday, I sent in a request to defer for one year. If my request is not granted, I will have to withdraw. FINGERS CROSSED that will not be the case. Either way, a space will be opening up this fall for someone in the evening division.
Best of Luck to all of you still waiting!

Professors don't mind if you missed a class or two. I did that once or twice in my first semester and never emailed the profs to let them know. My friend DID email. Either way, it did not impact my grades. I got notes from a classmate.DTDT wrote: Forget the burrito, I would take you out for an entire stone bowl of guacamole and chips at Rosa Mexicana if you helped me!

As for recording a lecture, most professors wont let you do that, even if you're not there for a legitimate reason. They only record on holidays when school is in session (like Jewish holidays). Just make sure to get notes from someone dependable.

None of my professors cared a bit about you missing class (unless you missed EVERY one, of course).Gemini wrote:Professors don't mind if you missed a class or two. THAT being said, as an evening student I do not think BLS or Rutgers are poor choices if you plan on staying part time. I believe BLS's part time program even surpassed Fordham's this past year. the only reason I know much about BLS's part time program is because someone who worked at my firm is up there in his class there. He has received great OCI interviews and if that doesn't pan out he also has a spot at my firm (which he may take regardless).
Do your scholarships have stipulations? Did you get any money at Fordham? Sticker at Fordham (or anywhere) is a HUGE investment, so I do think this is something you should REALLY deeply consider before making a final decision.

I did not get a merit scholarship from Fordham but my employer is contributing $15k per year. It certainly is a tough decision, but a good problem to have. If Fordham contributed something via merit scholy it would be a layup. Stips are 80%, pretty standard.
More good news for the w/l perhaps

15k/yr from your employer is pretty quality, congrats on that. Are they willing to give this to you if you go to BLS or Rutgets for COL? Are they are a solid future employer? Feel free to PM if you want to go into particulars about anything.DTDT wrote:I did not get a merit scholarship from Fordham but my employer is contributing $15k per year.
