Congrats to all the new admits!
Submitted 11/30... I have a feeling I have a ways to go before I hear anything.

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
First thought when I got my letter: Wow, the dean's handwriting is really crappy.ArchRoark wrote:I was a 12/06 and I got my letter today in Texas with a personalized note from Dean Cornblatt about how he heard good things about me from my interviewer. If you are asked to interview, I think doing well on the interview can really be the decisive factor that pushes you over the edge. Coming out of my NU interview I didn't feel I did that great, but I definitely hit it off with my Georgetown interviewer.
On a side note, Dean Conrblatt's handwriting looks incredibly similar to mine, chicken scratch ftw.
Second thought: His comment about hearing good things from my interviewer is like saying he heard I have nice socks. Very generic and a desperate reach to find something nice to say. (I'll take it though!)
Third thought: Wow, I have an acceptance letter from Georgetown. I'm going to law school.

Applied at the end of November. Didn't keep up with the status updates but got my acceptance letter. Postmarked on the 6th. +1 from Maine. See everyone in the fall!
ps I think it's really cool the Dean writes a little note -- even if it's relatively generic. Sets the tone for the whole process imo.

Congrats on the acceptances, everyone!!
Anyone else still at a 12/3 update?? Here's to hoping another big group gets their final update/decision on Monday!

That's me...I applied ED so I am hoping to have a decision in the near future...I expect bad news, but I still want to hear back...garrcv7 wrote:Congrats on the acceptances, everyone!!

I hope it goes well for you! The wait is almost worse BECAUSE they've been relatively quick with decisions.... you know it's coming soon, so you start to get excited/nervous, and then all the more frustrated when you don't hear back!ksimon2007 wrote:That's me...I applied ED so I am hoping to have a decision in the near future...I expect bad news, but I still want to hear back...garrcv7 wrote:Congrats on the acceptances, everyone!!

As a complete aside, I can't believe that the GULC people let the NYU thread catch up.

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
Got my letter yesterday, so I guess I'm officially not "waiting" any more. 168/4.0, so there is hope out there for everyone with a sub-170 LSAT
. Submitted 11/12, received 11/15, complete 11/18 - 12/1 - 12/6. Received letter today in CO, smallish envelope, nice handwritten note from the dean.
Good luck to everyone still waiting. A lot of people in this thread seem like really cool people, so I hope you all get in.

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
Yay! The mail lady delivered my acceptance letter today despite the raging blizzard in MN!
I love her in a totally non-stalker way
she literally parked her truck infront of the rental office and walked the mail through snow drifts to each mailbox!
I submitted 11/10 and had updates on11/11, 11/18, 11/29, 12/1 and 12/6.
While I agree cornblatt's chicken scratch is bad, i think it's right on parr with the note I got from u iowa's Byrd!

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
Apparently GULC sent one of my recommenders a letter via snail mail (he is very old btw...he said he got it three days ago and couldn't remember what it said verbatim- according to him, it was generically worded and mentioned how they receive thousands of applicants each year, etc etc)
I couldn't get much more out of him. Which tells me this letter was a waste of time. What is the point of this?
The only GULC update I have so far is an interview request last week. Applied back in mid-November RD. Why would they send a letter like that with nothing of note in it? Why has my alum not contacted me yet to schedule the interview? :

Just adding my name to the list of 12/3ers who will hopefully become 12/13ers (and acceptance letter recipients shortly thereafter).

Is there a reason we should be optimistic about a decision coming next week? I applied ED so I expected one within three weeks, but is there is a precedent for decisions coming next week...Soda Mixer wrote:Just adding my name to the list of 12/3ers who will hopefully become 12/13ers (and acceptance letter recipients shortly thereafter).

My speculation is not really based on anything solidksimon2007 wrote:Is there a reason we should be optimistic about a decision coming next week? On a somewhat related note, does anyone know when and for how long the admissions office will be closed for Christmas vacation? If we don't get decisions next week, will we have to wait several more?

why do so many people have so many updates on their applications...what do they all mean? I went complete on 12/1 and that is all...?

Don't look too much into the date changes. Changes could be the result of a committee member looking at your file after another member or an interview report being added.hoping wrote:why do so many people have so many updates on their applications...what do they all mean? I went complete two months ago and have heard nothing. Is this a bad sign?
