Re: Michigan 2011
For those that are interested, I got the email today giving some information on what classes we will be enjoying this summer (if you are one of the blessed few to be invited to join the summer group).
This year, the two doctrinal courses offered to summer-starters are:
Civil Procedure, taught by Professor Ed Cooper <http://web.law.umich.edu/_FacultyBioPag ... .asp?ID=45> , and
Torts, taught by Professor Sherman Clark <http://web.law.umich.edu/_FacultyBioPag ... asp?ID=177> .
and
Legal Practice with
Philip M. Frost <http://cgi2.www.law.umich.edu/_FacultyB ... asp?ID=141> , the Director of the Legal Practice Program;
Rachel Croskery-Roberts <http://cgi2.www.law.umich.edu/_FacultyB ... asp?ID=147> , the Assistant Director; and
Mark Osbeck <http://web.law.umich.edu/_FacultyBioPag ... asp?ID=124> , who joined the Michigan Law faculty in 2001.
No times or other information, but at least you know what to look for now.

Any one know the standard timeline? From LSN I gather it will be another 3-4 weeks before a decision?

Re: Michigan 2011
Getting my status checker a few weeks ago was easily one of the happiest days of this cycle--it almost, ALMOST felt like I was days away from being admitted/waitlisted/denied....
A month later and I feel this agonizing pain in the pit of my stomach. A pain that I can only compare to being beaten softly with a foam bat...a foam bat with a titanium core that can somehow emanate sadness...sadness that then turns into a revolting metaphorical stench of uncertainty and fear....
I have no idea where I was going with this...Oh yeah, congrats on the status checker guys!!

I am 12/15 checker -> 1/21 admit. But holidays are wedged in there. Also some people got the "holdish" email right up to 12/15 checker. So I say if you are going to get a speedy admit, maybe 3 weeks from today.Flips88 wrote:Any one know the standard timeline? From LSN I gather it will be another 3-4 weeks before a decision?

Definitely not expecting a speedy admit haha. Few point below 25% LSAT but >>>75th GPA. I wrote a Why Michigan if that helps. I'm expecting a waitlist or a ding. Re: Michigan 2011
So I wrote a brief "What I'm doing in my year off" statement since Michigan asked for it. I said that I left my job as a law clerk at a firm to pursue other work that better served my desire to do public interest eventually. So far I've been volunteering a couple days a week at the local ACLU and if funding goes through I should get a pretty cool job at a non-profit (hopefully next week)
Question: Should I send an updated resume or an LOCI even though a decision has yet to be rendered?

If they don't know about your ACLU work I'd send an update... Or I'd wait until next week to see if you get that job (good luck!!) and then update with both.Flips88 wrote:So I wrote a brief "What I'm doing in my year off" statement since Michigan asked for it. also got the status checker email today. Submitted 12/19, and I had emailed admissions a few days ago about my app status and was told that I was complete and UR as of 1/18. Another status checker bookmark to add to the 'stress' folder...

I think it was me last Friday if I am not mistaken. 21st. Of course other people may have gotten in but didn't post (or I missed it).Kili wrote:What's the date of the most recent decision?
