Congrats!!! Ug, I hate myself a bit for not having been able to get the ap in until mid January even though Penn's my dream. Waiting is painful, and so far this cycle it looks like my luck's shot at the t14 since I got things in later. Here's hopin though, right?legalnoeagle wrote:In. Just got the call. UR 2/5---> 3/5.

I had to take Feb test and looks like if I was able to submit in Nov I would be choosing schools right now instead of hoping to squeeze in. I guess when they say "considerable disadvantage" they were not exaggerating. If I have to do over in Sept I will make sure to be complete before 10/1.

Re: U Penn 2010
with Penn it's even worse. I submitted all materials in late December and still didn't go "complete" until 2/5, where I am right now. As an alumni with GPA and LSAT above 75th percentile there I obviously wanted Penn to be in the mix at the end, but considering I'm not even in review yet its looking more and more like choosing between $$$ at Duke or Vandy. There are worse problems, I suppose, but Penn won't be getting any future alumni donations from me!

Did you write a why penn essay? Maybe they figured you want a change of scenary? I think you may actually still have a shot at Columbia. Duke, even with $$ may be settling with your numbers.

I didn't write a "why penn", but even if i did they wouldn't know, because they haven't looked at my application yet!r6_philly wrote:Did you write a why penn essay? Unfortunately taking the December LSAT seems to have pretty much screwed me over - but I suppose there are worse things than ending up in the Southeast near my girlfriend...

Indeed, there are fates much worse than ending up near a s/o with money at Dukesdv wrote:I didn't write a "why penn", but even if i did they wouldn't know, because they haven't looked at my application yet!r6_philly wrote:Did you write a why penn essay? Re: U Penn 2010
I suspect that they look at your numbers and your file before they put into the "review now" or "review later" pile. When you go complete they have to check off what components you submitted. I think if anyone writes a why penn essay you will be reviewed sooner if they indeed seperate the piles. Maybe not looking into the content, but at least know that you took the time to come up with a why penn essay.sdv wrote:I didn't write a "why penn", but even if i did they wouldn't know, because they haven't looked at my application yet!r6_philly wrote:Did you write a why penn essay? Was UCR 3/3 now UCR 3/9. Is this just a tease?

If we start to hear from people who are UCR 3/9 then I think it is our turn. These acceptances today are from people who's been UCR for a while. I wonder how long it would take our files to work through.

From my observation (stalking?) it usually takes about 2 or 3 weeks after your last UCR to get your decision.r6_philly wrote:Kiersten1985 wrote:Was UCR 3/3 now UCR 3/9. Is this just a tease?

Thank you for that observation since I haven't been paying attention too long. It will save me 2 weeks of jumping up when I see a (215) number on my phone seeing that my own number starts with (215) ...chinny123 wrote:From my observation (stalking?) it usually takes about 2 or 3 weeks after your last UCR to get your decision.r6_philly wrote:Kiersten1985 wrote:Was UCR 3/3 now UCR 3/9. Actually the R6 is a tribute to a motorcycle, but it works with SEPTA too. Although they are going to get rid of the numbers because they apparently "confuse" the good people that vists our great region.chinny123 wrote: Haha yeah i noticed your sn and your apparent attachment to the cynwyd regional rail line hahaha

I think going tokenless would do more for SEPTA than eliminating the R-numbers. Then again, SEPTA is probably beyond repair.r6_philly wrote:Actually the R6 is a tribute to a motorcycle, but it works with SEPTA too. Same, I think. I forget my first UCR date but it was not that long before the second one, which was 2/18. Hopefully that means I'll hear soon.chinny123 wrote:2/12-->2/18democrattotheend wrote:Congrats!chinny123 wrote:In at Penn! Phone call an hour ago.

Ridding the El of the stench of urine would also help.pertristis wrote:I think going tokenless would do more for SEPTA than eliminating the R-numbers. I think the orange line is worse on that, I wonder how many eagle's fans actually contribute to that problem every summer.chinny123 wrote:

El's gotten a lot better since the early 90's fwiw. I may actually take the EL to Penn if I attend instead of paying for parking and dealing with the traffic.

That's probably true. I'm pretty sure there was a crack dealer roaming the cars on the orange line last time I was on it on my way to visit friends at Temple. Madddd sketch.r6_philly wrote:I think the orange line is worse on that, I wonder how many eagle's fans actually contribute to that problem every summer.chinny123 wrote:

Now a days I can't tell who's a dealer and who's just a normal kid lolchinny123 wrote:

15 years ago right there at Board and Cecil B More (Temple), you can find 10+ crackheads and prostitutes roaming the corner all times of the day. Temple has come a long way. The city has come a long way. They extended University City all they way out to where I used to live in SW, so the "ghetto" is kind of turning hip with community gardens and farmers markets and all. Penn has done a great job to West Philly IMHO.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
