i applied 10 days ago and haven't received a single email from berkeley. is this normal?

They only just opened 30 min ago for the first time since right before Christmas. I'd expect a status checker soon.

I think they are closed on a furlough today. So, I think they open tomorrow.

we are in the same cabin of the same boat. nyu has also not acknowledged me. from what i have learned, this is not terribly surprising.

Aw. Their home page says "All Berkeley Law offices and the Law Library will be closed December 23 through January 6[,]" though. I guess I'll just assume they're closed until they tweet. Edit: Nvm, I was looking at the LS's home page. The Admissions page includes today. Curses.

is it wishful thinking, or haven't we already established that the UR date doesn't neccessarily mean much of anything? and even if it does, theres still the possibility of going to faculty review, rather than rejection. plenty of juicy agonizing time left, in my mind at least.

it is actually my diabolical plot to make all those who've yet to hear back from boalt suicidal so as to free up more space for myself. immoral? perhaps. neccessary? maybe not. great way of passing the anxious waiting time? absolutely.
