A ginormous batch of admits. I'm certain of it.
:-D your positivity is awesome. I mean that non-sarcastically. Glad you're all over the ADW threads I lurk in.

In other news, has anyone at all who was EA deferred gotten in, or do we think that was a soft waitlist?

I hate to say it but I'm thinking it was a soft waitlist. Who really knows though. The deferral email said they would consider our applications again once the Feb. 1st deadline passed so hopefully we will hear something soonish.

has anyone checked LSN to see what happened to last year's deferrals?

when i got deferred at UT this cycle, i remember checking last year's LSN cycle and seeing a bunch of deferred people get admitted in Feb. might be a similar ray of hope here

I've checked and there really isn't too much data to go off of. It seems that after people get deferred they decide not to update their LSN dates ever again! lol

Feb. seems a little optimistic from what little data there is.. looks like most of those with deferrals heard back in April :? :( :? :(

After reading through the entirety of last year's deferred EA at Cornell thread (I was at work, so I consider it a good use of my time), I found it was pretty much a bloodbath. Very few were admitted, a bunch were dinged, and a bunch were pushed to reserve.

Not sure how it will be this year, though.

I withdrew on Tuesday but still got the book today. It is so nice! I wish some of the other T-14's had as much style. I have been mostly disappointed by what other schools have sent me.

I got that and Fordham's (bent, spiral bound) books today...drool. Cornell is clearly trying to make us think of things other than the terrible winter in Ithaca right now.

Just got an email notifying me that my application is complete (on a Sunday? weird). I'm honestly surprised I went complete this quickly, as my app was received 1/9. Anyone have an idea of when I can expect to hear back? I have to respond to my TFA offer by 1/30, but I was hoping to request an extension for making my decision.

Isn't it strange that we went complete over the weekend? Is that normal? I definitely hope that we will find out earlier. I graduate the first week of May - a mid to late April decision will be a bit stressful. I'm a borderline candidate, so I'm also scared of getting waitlisted. Cornell is my number one!

I feel your pain. My numbers are not too hot for Cornell. I don't think that it is odd to receive an update on Sunday. Stay hopeful!!!!!!
