How do people know that decisions will be out in 6 days?

The final day for initial decisions to come out is April 30th. This coming week is the last week before that date so hopefully we should get our decisions.

This is a bit confusing to me...given that ASW has happened/is happening and we haven't heard back before then, doesn't this mean that we're most likely on the WL or in the reject pile?

It just doesn't make sense to me that they would hold on to acceptances up until this point. But at the same time, it also doesn't make sense that they would hold to the other letters, especially the rejections....

There has to be a reason for holding on to our apps. I refuse to believe that it is simply because they haven't gotten to our pile of apps yet. There could still be hope, if a lot of admits choose Y or H over S.

Lets hope it was raining in Palo Alto all week during ASW, freeing up all the spots for us.

"The Office of Admissions will make every effort to send applicants a first response (accept, deny, or wait list) by April 30."

No one really knows what going on apart from dean Dean and the rest of the admission staff. ALso we are still waiting for people who went to ASW to describe their experience and state of there was any mention that they were done admitting people.

At this point, i'm getting ready for the movement that happens this week..gonna pray for a WL...and hope i get off in like late May or June (thats usually when they start pulling people).

P.S. by 6 days I meant 6 business days (5 days this week and 1 next week).

I'm disheartened by the words: "will make every effort to" and not something like "will for sure."

Take heart, I think they're probably pretty good at this by now, so if they really do "make every effort", they will succeed. Besides, It's every effort to send a decision, not to make a decision. So Stanford, if the clock's running out on April 30th, feel free to stop deliberating, and just call me.

Got my letter today as well - WL.
+1.

Think I'll withdraw from the UChi WL and ride Stanford's. Probably will end up going to Michigan in the fall...
trying to find housing all the way across the country in August if in the unlikely chance Stanford accepts me will be a nightmare.

I'm taking the power away from SLS by no longer checking the status checker next week & by no longer reading this thread. 8) Good everyone. Especially URMs that received an "invitation" to apply.

May the odds be ever in your favor. xoxo, Rue

Did anyone submit LSAC evaluations to SLS with the recommendation letters? TLS's profile on SLS says, "Stanford makes a targeted recommendation form available" that we should submit.

I believe that's old. They discontinued that form this year.

well, it was very beautiful. the weather was gorgeous, which certainly presented the campus in a favorable light. the students who were on campus were a pleasure to speak with, and had many insights to offer on a stanford legal education. i don't have a ton of time to add detail right now, but i will say that the panels gave me more information that i had previously been armed with in order to make my decision (a very good thing), the attitude/demeanor/style of the faculty impressed me, and the sunscreen and ball glass jars of flowers were nice touches. i wish i could have stayed to see a class.

Did they tell you when they plan on mercilessly rejecting those who are not worthy?

Withdrew by email this morning. Hopefully that gives somebody else a better shot. The wait from submit application -> hearing something/anything was just too dang long.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
