See this is what I don't understand. We had 172/4.0s get in earlier in the cycle (like before thanksgiving), and of course we have people with 3.85/179 held as well. Maybe Harvard isn't so numbers focused after all...

Presuming if we don't get the hold email today and we submitted...say before mid-December...they've made a decision one way or the other.

Not necessarily true... there were a whole bunch of people last cycle who were "forgotten" and didn't get held until late January...

Wow, I'm really surprised. Sorry curious cat. Maybe it's because you're international? Is your GPA international?

Yeah, this process seems less numbers focused than I expected going in...

Hmmm. I don't think this follows, but I can't think of an alternative. First I would wait to hear the latest submit date of the holds today. If it's before your submit date then conclude nothing. If it's after it and you've heard nothing, it might look a bit more grim, but still I wouldn't freak out just yet.

I sent 10/20 but was still waiting for the October score.
I got the complete email 11/10 but on the status checker I was under review since 10/31. Got the hold email today and my application updated to "under review - 1/13".
First under review on Halloween, held email on Friday the 13th, what's the next scary date?

Is there any previous research on the hold-then-KB1s/holds rate(or hold-ADs/hold rate)?

HELD today as well! 162, 3.94 URM. I was SO scared to open the email! And SO happy when it was a hold and not a rejection. Submitted 10/23/ complete 10/25 silence since then.

Any guesses on when we can expect the next round of kb1s?

Were there any this week?

And do rejections also come by snail mail? Curious since I applied late October and haven't heard a peep.

Hmmm. I don't think this follows, but I can't think of an alternative. First I would wait to hear the latest submit date of the holds today. If it's before your submit date then conclude nothing. If it's after it and you've heard nothing, it might look a bit more grim, but still I wouldn't freak out just yet.
Well if you applied before December, complete radio silence can't be good IMO.

Looks like I may be heading towards rejectionville. Silence since submitting 10/25.

Held...

Numbers way way way below medians. Non URM. Strong softs. Complete email 11/10. I haven't been admitted, but ostensibly it is not pure numbers gaming by H.
