This made me think about how long I had been complete so I went to count and then I remembered that were complete day twins

I hope we become JS1 twins very soon!!!

I have an idea for us to get JS1s but it involves an active volcano and a few sacrificial virgins. You guys down?
I can offer.... *looks around* this tape dispenser?
At this point I'll do anything. Bring forth the virgins!
All set! Who brought the pasta?

I get they're Jessica's initials, but it seems to be a very particular method that none of the other threads use.
It's a carryover from cycles past using the current Dean of Admissions' initials to denote an interview invite/offer of admission. Other previous rough equivalents include the KB1/KB2 and JR1/JR2, though pre-2012 HLS interviews were substantially different (conducted via phone and seen as more of a formality/a surer harbinger of admittance than today's JS1).

Anyone who has stuck around the office to send out JS1/JS2s by 5:30 pm this evening deserves Von Miller's MVP. The MBTA is going to be a HOT MESS tonight, especially the Green Line. Red Line or bust.

Please don't continue to repost this same demand over and over. You could always PM those people whose info you are interested in. If they are going to see it and respond, they would respond based on one post. Not three or four.

there were some calculations earlier in the thread, but I was doing some after i got my js1 and in 2013 they did 1200 interviews and they almost always admit over 900 students last year it was 961 and 2014 it was 930ish which gives js1 a 70+ percent chance of admission. but they have been expanding the interview process. in 2012 there were 1000 interviews and JS said that the jump to 1200 was part of a mission to expand... so random speculation an additional 200 plus js1 each year, 1400 in 2014 and 1600 this year then 900+ admission offers still give about a 60 percent chance of admission given a JS1 this year.

Well, it wouldn't be unprecedented for JS2s to go out after five. But the snowy weather might mean you are right.

I don't think we know exactly how many applicants are interviewed, but there doesn't seem to be any evidence that HLS is now conducting significantly more than roughly 1200 interviews per cycle. My reading of the "mission to expand" comment is that the change in number of applicants interviewed for 2012 and beyond was an adjustment intended to reflect the change in both the interview format (phone->sykpe) and purpose (from operating as an effective screener for presumptive admits to something slightly more inclusive but less predictive of admission).
tl;dr - it seems unlikely that the number of applicants interviewed is an ever-expanding number, and probably hovers closer to 1200 over the course of each cycle.

If this is true a Js1 gives a 75 percent chance of admission if you assume at least 900 admission offers for the year.

Right - perhaps as an aggregate figure for the overall pool of those who receive JS1s. But each individual applicant who receives one doesn't necessarily have the same chance of a JS2. There's been some discussion ITT of how not all JS1s are created equally. I'd say that neither a 179/4.0 applicant with 3 yrs WE nor a 169/3.8 KJD applicant would have a 75% chance of admission (myLSN bears this out).

Chances of me getting in are SO slim, but it feels great to not be outright rejected.
Correct, you have been JS1'd! Congrats!
Ah, thank you!!!
