From OP:
JS1= Skype Interview with either Admissions Dean Jessica Soban or Admissions Director Karen Buttenbaum. It is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for being admitted.
Congrats!!

First post hold/ding JS1s...so I'm gonna be melodramatic and say it's a milestone. Congrats everyone!

How long did it take for people who already received their JS1s to get the email confirmation that the time is scheduled? (Not the initial appointment received email)

Did we ever decide if this statistic was true ?

"About 850 out of the 1200 interviewed applicants get in. So, you have a 70% chance one you get JS1"

She said in an interview that they were expanding to 1200 JS1s, and historically they accept 850 people or so, so yeah, its (sort of) true. Of course, the way you stated it makes it seem like once someobe get to the JS1, their chances are the same as everyone else at that stage, which is probably not true. For example, a 175/4.0 who has a JS1 may have better than a 70% chance. However, this does mean that 70% who get JS1s will get in.

Congrats to all the JS1's!

Looks like I was passed up for another wave :( Wish they'd send out more dings already.

Is there any way to check to see what Skype name we gave them? I think I may have typed the wrong one down! I'm not being overly paranoid at all.... ;)

I absolutely cannot believe it. I was complete in like early October, so I had pretty much given up all hope on Harvard. Whoo!!! :-)

JS1 for me as well. Like zabava, I've been complete for quite some time, so had sort of given up hope. Excited!
