In response to the softs question: Not that I am aware of, especially in this caliber of applicant pool. Started an organization, from a rural area, worked during and after undergrad in the same research position. I was busy and involved, but I doubt much more than most applicants.
Postmarked the 7th.
And thanks for sharing your info.
Edit: and congrats on your acceptance as well!

sorry man, i have been through the cycle more than once and it is true. what adcomm blogs say does not equal the truth.yankees42789 wrote:Pretty sure that's not true. I have the feeling this round (if you call it that), will be more of a trickle, judging from LSN.

Accepted by VCE/mail today! What a lovely surprise!
Submitted 12/30. Went complete mid to late January.
173/4.04. My application was not Columbia specific but I did attach a diversity statement about my nationality and religious persuasion.
Very very excited. Was also accepted to Chicago today.

VCEs all seem to be closer to east coast for the 2/7 post mark crew? Anyone on the west coast receive decision via snail mail that was postmarked 2/7?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
