I applied like three days before the deadline (I know why waste $100) and I got a received email, but not a complete email. Should I email to see what the delay is? Does it usually take two weeks for my file to go complete?

I think when I finally got my status checker 2.5 weeks later, it already stated that my file had been forwarded to the committee for review.

and does anybody know how long her trip usually lasts - 1 week, 2 weeks? (i know there was a blog post last cycle that she returned on 2/26, but i couldnt find when she left)

No clue, but she could possibly be making acceptance calls from the road.

i called dean deal today (they give admitted students her direct line) to ask a question. the recording on her VMail said she was out of town beginning wednesday 2/16, so it's plausible someone got a call on tuesday before she left. the VMail said she'll be away from the office until 2/23.

i doubt there will be much positive movement this week.

Wow, thank you for this tidbit-it is incredibly helpful. I have never heard of anyone getting a call from someone other than Dean Deal, so this likely means that no acceptances go out until at least late next week.

Actually, her blog post was on 2/26, which was a Friday. She talks about working after she took the nonstop back the Sunday (2/21) before. So she was already back by the Monday (2/22) before, which makes the call on 2/25 nothing truly special.

Actually, her blog post was on 2/26, which was a Friday. She talks about working after she took the nonstop back the Sunday (2/21) before. So she was already back by the Monday (2/22) before, which makes the call on 2/25 nothing truly special.

Was at the game (front row student section) with a bunch of SLSers. Two of us went to UCLA, two went to Stanford UG, and I went to Cal. It was a fun little game.

Tickets are free (not counting being built into tuition), ergo not hard to get. The only caveat is the Big Game, which is only free if you have gone to enough other home games (something like 5?).

Most students never went to a single game. But there was a strong contingent (perhaps 20 or so) that made it to almost every game.
