Well, with your current offers I would hope Chicago would give you something good. However, I did see on their website that they don't match/negotiate with offers from other schools. Kind of sounds like they don't really care what other schools give you, it's take it or leave it with them. That being said...it doesn't hurt to try, and they might make an exception for a Full Darrow/Yale Admit. Good luck!natalie123 wrote:Thanks!sundevil77 wrote:Really? You have a full Darrow and an acceptance to Yale and you're excited for this one?!! Would you even consider going to Chicago with those other options?natalie123 wrote:In!! Stats are in my profile. Major congrats if this is your 1st choice!!
I have personal ties to Chicago, and that's where I want to practice law eventually, so there's that to consider. Both the Darrow and Yale are HUGELY tempting, but I also have school-aged kids, and moving would be hard on them. They've gone through some major, and I do mean major, losses in the past couple years. So I have to weigh that in too, and be fair to them. Maybe with these other offers, though, I can leverage some financial aid--anyone know how receptive Chicago is to that?

I don't think I'm gonna get anything from them since I can't file as an independent I don't think. And no, barring a Yale acceptance, it won't make a difference.talibkweli wrote:thanks. any idea when you find out about money from stanford? will that even make a difference for you?crackberry wrote:I had written a post asking about you and then when I clicked submit saw that you posted.talibkweli wrote:in. pretty stoked.

no i think you are indakatz wrote:Someone calm me down because I'm freaking out right now. I just got home and saw a message on my answering machine from Chicago. The woman said she wanted to give me an update on my app, and said that I should receive an email shortly. That means I'm gonna be waitlisted/rejected, doesn't it? I got this message 2 hours ago but just heard it now. Did anyone else get this call? Should I call them back? She didn't specifically ask me to call back. Like I said, freakin out...

No, it does not mean you're waitlisted or rejected. Can you imagine how awkward it would be for Chicago to call you to tell you that you were waitlisted or rejected, especially during the same hours that they are calling people with acceptances?dakatz wrote:Someone calm me down because I'm freaking out right now. Thanks. They said aid/scholarship offers would be sent out in the next few weeks, from the financial aid office. Guess I'll wait for that...sundevil77 wrote:Well, with your current offers I would hope Chicago would give you something good. How many people went to 2/5? I'm getting the impression it's only a select few. I would guess they are WLs and those who haven't been called are dings.insidethetwenty wrote:2/5...jumpinjackflash wrote:anyone else with median + on lsat (high) and gpa still sitting at UR 2/4?
