Thanks all! I enjoy it - even though I know it doesn't have an impact, it makes me feel more engaged in the process. Hopefully we can all laugh at our neuroticism as 1Ls in Cambridge next year! :P

yeah, thanks for gathering all of the information, Pylon :) it's dead useful, it is...

and don't forget to laugh at all the 0Ls who're doing the same thing.

All it means is that 75% of JS1s get JS2s. There's a fine difference between that and saying they have a 75% chance of acceptance.

This is because not all JS1s are equal. If candidate X has 176/3.9 and Y has 170/3.7, even if they both had JS1s, the playing field is not suddenly just levelled. X still has a better shot at acceptance than Y. This affects their relative chance of acceptance. Hopefully that helps!
lol thank you for using my exact stats as the example of the person who won't get in :)

Dunno. Got a snapchat of someone cross-country skiing on my UGrad campus quad in Boston. But I'm half a world away, so I'm only getting images of the ridiculous variety, nothing firsthand.

Have been messing with my Skype and webcam for six hours in the last two days. Skype crashes whenever I try to make or receive a call and my computer stopped even detecting my webcam video last night (but the webcam microphone works). FML.

None that I'm aware of! I was a 1/8 JS1 and I'm starting to jump every time my phone buzzes.

Not yet - the most recent JS1 to be admitted was 12/15 (they interviewed before the holidays).
