Okay, so help me understand if there is any truth to this....

If you aren't accepted within the first 1-2 weeks (of being UR), you are neither an immediate accept or reject. The longer the wait, the longer the contemplation??

Just curious.

I guess technically according to the word immediate. But I would say most schools take 6-8 weeks to render a decision. Expecting one in a week or two is pretty crazy. Definitely don't stress if it takes longer than several weeks. That's normal.

This depends on school. Some schools have slower turn around times. Some release decisions in waves, some trickle them out.
You can look at mylsn to see how schools have released decisions in the past to get a better idea of what's going on -

It's the first thing I do when I get to work, and usually the last thing before I leave. And a couple more times around lunch.

Law School Admission Probs

#9,351,435,435

When you see a new email and it starts with "law.admissions@.." Then you find out it is from a fake law school. :(

I've gotten a couple good scholarships to public schools (where I'm OOS), but I've noticed when I receive the scholarship letter/email some say something along the lines of "your scholarship may be adjusted if your residency status changes." From other people's experiences, is this something to truly be concerned about after declaring residency for 2L/3L? I would like to start tracking overall COA for all my schools before I make a decision/negotiate, and I am not sure if it is safe to factor in these scholarships when it comes to 2L/3L in-state tuition or if I will get a bad surprise when I declare residency. Thanks!

It depends on the state a lot of times. In California it's pretty easy to achieve in-state after the first year whereas in Texas it's super difficult and unlikely, for example.
If they mention it, it's probably possible/likely. Ask around in the individual school threads to see if 2Ls can give you first-hand experiences with declaring residency for tuition purposes.

It's cool seeing how the poll trends upwards over the weeks, as people report higher and higher acceptances.

Ooph Mack, that's a long wait. Hearing back from 5 out of 11 seems pretty good though in only mid-Jan!

Wow also waiting on 6! 6 seems to be the magic number.

Should you ever contact school for scholarship info? Or waiting is just the inevitable?
