I feel like we're blowing this whole school atmosphere thing out of proportion IMHO. There will be elitist, hyper-competitive people at any law school, I'd bet. There will also be normal, friendly people at any law school. Even if a given school has a higher proportion of one type of student over the other, I doubt it's too hard to avoid people you clash with and to form a group of folks you like to be around.

It's law school, it's a T6 law school, it's in Manhattan, it has heavy connections to corporate law, and it's not NYU. I'd kind of expect Columbia to be a heated place, compared to Cambridge, New Haven, or even Chicago or Philadelphia.

Waiittttt can we talk about the girl who listed having "never lived in an inner city before" as a reason she liked Columbia? It's Morningside Heights, not Brownsville. LOL. Plus, who lists living in the hood as a cool, exciting thing? Err.....patfeeney wrote:pokemonsters wrote:I feel like we're blowing this whole school atmosphere thing out of proportion IMHO. Blue envelope still playing hard to get...but seem to be in good company.
Don't get the controversy over the video, they seem fine.

Just found out I was accepted to Columbia! The mail was postmarked 1/24/2014. I was away for few days and my dad had just put the mail so that I did not see it until today. I was rejected from Harvard, waiting from Stanford. Good luck everyone!
