We've confirmed that the status checker with DLS but no call = ding, correct?

It's actually ding or waitlist, but waitlists haven't started yet.

Should we be honored we survived thus far, or angry that they're still dangling the carrot? Maybe they just left mine so they could have a good laugh later, too.

Kind of. You learn ahead of time by the status checker. If it says decision letter sent and u haven't gotten a welcome , then u are dinged or possibly wait listed.

Acceptance: you get a phone call out of the blue, no change on status checker
WL: email
Deny: DLS on status checker and no email. You receive a letter in the mail a few days later

Email notification will happen if Dean Deal can't get through to you by phone. I received a call + voicemail and she said nothing about acceptance, she said she'd follow it up by email. In the email she said I got in.

you need to find the way of zen. seek the mind above the mind. stare at the Stanford Law logo on the status checker until enlightenment dawns or your decision letter is sent, which amounts to the same thing.

Don't blame yourself; I've learned that it is almost always best to blame the equipment. Unlike every other law school and despite its close proximity to Silicon Valley, SLS hasn't been able to figure out how to use the interweb to email decisions. Hence, we keep checking....

I feel like physical mail is classier than email in this day and age. Faye's definitely one of the stalwart veterans of law school admissions, and I'd like to think this is a reflection of her values.
