They updated the status checker. If you get accepted the status checker will now say "Congratulations". What you can no longer do is check ASW.msblaw89 wrote:I had surgery yesterday and was out of it for most of the day.... Well, I hope you have a speedy recovery, but if you go back all of two pages, you'll see that they are now admitting via status checker as well as ASW.msblaw89 wrote:I had surgery yesterday and was out of it for most of the day.... Re: Michigan c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I guess technically yes because if you are accepted and try to access ASW you're going to get in. But wouldn't it be easier just to use the status checker first so as not to piss off the UMich powers that be by still relentlessly trying the ASW even though they updated the Status Checker precisely for that purpose?ScrabbleChamp wrote: Someone said they found out via ASW, yesterday.
(Not that I really think they care since we all were obsessively trying ASW)
But TLS has been asking for a better status checker and the prayers have been answered. So use it!

I thought the status checker was still updating after ASW just not as slowly anymore? I don't think anyone who hadn't already heard back heard first through the status checker, but correct me if I'm wrong guys.

Nope, after the poll by Dean Z last week she discovered that everyone really did want to find out instantaneously. So now you find out via status checker at the same time.hyakku wrote:I thought the status checker was still updating after ASW just not as slowly anymore? She's onto us: http://www.law.umich.edu/connection/a2z ... 397d820295
I thought, for old time’s sake, it would be fun to look at the aggregate data on log-in attempts. And that’s how I learned that there are other people out there whose capacity to spend excessive amounts of time on tasks that others might dispatch quickly, or not engage in at all, rivals my own. Looking only at the data through November 1, I was fascinated to see that, of the 502 people who had tried to access the admitted students site prior to being admitted, 73 did so just once; 273 did so 10 times or more; 50 did so 50 times or more; 6 tried 100 times or more; and one dedicated individual tried 215 times. I promise, though, that I will await the end of the admission season to look up identities. And if Mr./Ms. 215 turns out to be in the entering class, I’m going to present him/her with a customized T-shirt. (Mind you, getting the wording right will probably take me a month or so.)

I think when I was checking last year (and my husband was at the same time) we probably checked twice a day each for the four weeks or so that he had a status checker. So that's 4x30 or so days... 120 times?? LOL

If YP ends up happening, I would very much like her to look up those identities before the call is made to understand just how much we really want to go!splbagel wrote:She's onto us: http://www.law.umich.edu/connection/a2z ... 397d820295

IN via ASW/status checker! I am in shock.
Went complete 11/5 and reverse 25th/75th. I had given up on checking ASW, but I'm back on winter break and can't get my mail, so I figured why not.
I cannot believe it!

so on the asw site under mail and admissions communications it says dean scholarships letter with an approx sent date of 12/22. now I know some of oyu all were able to see how much you were awarded before you got the mail. when i click financial aid award information it says zero awards found. is there some trick i am missing or do i jsut need to wait.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
