Sorry, I was looking at the wrong dates. It was either last Thursday or Friday. I've been snowed in for far too long.

Also my Duke status checker has been stuck on 1/25 for a while so the 25th was in my head!

Hi all,
I was waitlisted last week and withdrew via email this morning. Hopefully, this opens up a spot for someone else--good luck to all who are hanging in there!!

OMGOMGOMG IN!!! Just got an email from Jason Dugas to call at 10:45 AM EST. He talked about my PS!
I didn't write a Why UVA or anything. Was not counting on this at all. Have to rething my plans to stay in NY! I'm sure a bunch of acceptances are forthcoming...

If it's already above that, just don't update your UG transcript with LSAC.itsirtou wrote:YES! Also got a call from Jason this morning! I have to keep my UGPA above 3.85 but who cares, I've done that the last three and a half years!!!!

I thought schools don't care once your in, don't you just need good academic standing? Did they say you need to send your transcript to LSAC?itsirtou wrote:YES! LOL at anyone who said UVA wasn't a numbers whore.itsirtou wrote:To be honest, no -- the person I talked to essentially said "well you have to keep your UGPA above a 3.85, but if you do something massive and screw up, just don't send your updated transcript in to LSAC."mrm2083 wrote:I thought schools don't care once your in, don't you just need good academic standing? Re: UVA 2010, RD
So I'm probably opening a can of worms here (and I am not trying to offend anyone that has gotten in today... I am really happy for you) but does anyone understand what is going on with this admission cycle? It seems that all they really care about is GPA. Last week they waitlisted dozens of people with LSATs 4-7 points over their median and .1-.3 lower on GPA. Now they are accepting individuals with LSATs 2 points below median and GPAs on the median. Does this make sense to anyone?
edit... this is mostly because I was one of the people that got waitlisted and UVA was my first choice

Re: UVA 2010, RD
They may have gotten a flood of high-LSAT applicants and found it actually harder this cycle to find and keep 3.85+ applicants than 170+ applicants. They may have also taken more 170+ splitters early in the cycle than they should have, forcing them to compensate now by taking high-GPA kids.bwana73 wrote:So I'm probably opening a can of worms here (and I am not trying to offend anyone that has gotten in today... Hard to say for sure, but there's a couple possible theories there.

They got all the high LSATs they needed via their ED process?bwana73 wrote:So I'm probably opening a can of worms here (and I am not trying to offend anyone that has gotten in today...
