I really enjoyed it. The sample torts class was awesome. overall i thought the faculty was really impressive and engaging especially at that lunch thing. the campus wasn't that impressive though.

Ok thats good news actually. Is the deposit postmarked 15th?

Is ANYBODY getting any money from these people? There was a streak of 40-30k/year a while ago and I haven't heard anything since.

Yeah, I can't believe how atrocious this merit aid process is. They can't guarantee that we hear about merit aid by the 15th? So we are supposed to put down a deposit for the CHANCE to find out if BC will be giving us any money at all? Haha, BC can go **** themselves if that's their stance.

In less severe words, this is how I feel, too. Unfortunately, I'm almost certainly going to BC at this point, so now it's like just waiting for them to throw me a bone and make things slightly easier. I guess that could also be good, as in it doesn't matter whether it comes now or later. I just want to know!

I'm sort of past the point where I want to talk flattery about schools. We spend so long on our knees for these schools, begging to get in, treating them god-like (because they expect nothing less), and then to have procedures like this, for the students they actually WANT to attend? I can almost understand mistreating your rejection and WL pool, as wrong as it may be. But to string along the admits and push them past deadlines so they can get out merit awards that may not even come? I will repeat: BC can go **** themselves.

I finally was able to check my Agora account...It said there were no awards listed, so I guess that means no merit aid for me. What a joke

No, merit awards are sent separately, and not listed in Agora, according to BC. So you have to wait an indefinite amount of time, perhaps past the deposit deadline of BC as well as other schools, simply for the CHANCE to hear if you got any merit aid. That's the real joke.

15/yr from UT, 18/yr from BC. Very torn. I was at UT during BC's asd but I just went to BC yesterday and really liked it. Thoughts?

Well then I guess they list only those merit awards that they decided on before the Agora awards came up. But awards made after the fact (which they told me they are still working on), will be sent via email, if any is received at all. It is just really disappointing to me, since I would like to make my school choice next week, and I'm going to have to say no to BC, simply because they took way too long to send out merit info.

I am confused:

They finished reviewing my FAFSA and Need Access but are giving me 20k total in federal aids and nothing in institutional aid. How I am supposed to finance the rest of my education?

note: that is not a rhetorical question, I actually don't know where the rest of the money is supposed to come from...

Grad plus loans. They're federal loans that'll cover everything that's left up to the estimated cost of attendance. I think they don't mention them on Agora because we have to apply for them separately.

So wait. Do I have this straight?

My Agora award was the base 20k Stafford loan and that's it. Now I can get the GradPlus loans as well to cover COA. I was pretty confident about this part.

But now you're all saying that there's still a chance for merit aid, even if I haven't heard anything yet? And isn't the deposit deadline like, today?

I really like BC and merit aid could definitely sway me, but right now, if I'm paying sticker, I have options that excite me more. But I have to pay the deposit in order to hear if I'm getting aid?

When is the deposit deadline, btw?

Never mind re the deposit deadline. For some reason I thought it was the 2nd. Ok I still have a couple weeks to worry, but could they really not let us know about merit awards before the deadline?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
