Lol whatever, we don't need to argue. STL isn't diverse to me.LET'S GET IT wrote:Not all of the coast is diverse, bro. Hang out in Atlanta, Charlotte, Boston, Portland, Seattle some. Yeah it's chill, rooftop bars haven't caught on in STL so it's one of the only places to go for that. We've had a couple of bar reviews there as well.peachesthedoge wrote:6778628 wrote:I'm a long-time lurker of this thread. the rooftop bar is one of my favorite summer happy hour spots

What's the bar scene like around campus? Any local breweries? Coming from Denver, I'm not sure how I'd fare without limitless craft beer options.
How many hours per day are you stuck on campus?
Can I take courses at WashU outside of the law school?

How many hours during the weekend do you typically spend studying/on law school stuff?

I'm not into craft beers, but lots of local breweries here. Schlafly, Morgan Street, Civil life, Urban Chestnut, and four hands to name a few of the bigger ones. If you are into it, you can find lots of breweries to tour and such.RancidSumo wrote:What's the bar scene like around campus? Any local breweries? Depends on the year. 1L I was typically on campus ~6 hours a day because I liked to get all my work done there instead of at home. Probably about the same for 2L. 3L I am on campus maybe 6 hours a week total outside of going to the gym.
Yes, but I'm not sure the rules on that. There are lots of classes which are cross listed with the business school or school of social work too which count as law credits.

Um I'm usually here like 9-3 or 4. One class on Fridays doe.
And yeah I think you can take up to 9 credits in other grad schools, and then those are just pass/fail.

I spend more time on the weekend doing work because I like to do all of my reading for the week, so probably a few hours a day. If you read during the week though, you should generally have your weekends pretty open though, aside from when you have a memo or brief due or come exam time.emly888 wrote:How many hours during the weekend do you typically spend studying/on law school stuff?

What's the gym like? Serious question, though. Need to get that stress relief in to be able to withstand three years of school.

I'm on campus a lot more than what birdnails and Scotty referenced, but I'm not as smart as most of the people here and i kind of have to make up for it with putting in hours to be competitive I think.RancidSumo wrote:What's the bar scene like around campus? It's not great, also aren't parts of it closed for construction? (Question directed at other current students, Birdnals should know)imKMart wrote:What's the gym like? Serious question, though. Need to get that stress relief in to be able to withstand three years of school.

It's currently the worst gym ever and I hate a ton of things about it, but they are building a new one right now (which is why the current one sucks so bad because lots of shit with the renovations) and it is going to be bad ass. http://bearsports.wustl.edu/facilities/ ... rec-center It is supposed to be done next year.imKMart wrote:What's the gym like? Agreed. I don't come on weekends except for memos and maybe the last 3 or 4 weeks before exams. I normally take Saturday's completely off and do a couple hours at home on Sunday.scottidsntknow wrote:I spend more time on the weekend doing work because I like to do all of my reading for the week, so probably a few hours a day. It's not like there's a binder in the admissions office with everyone's name and picture or anything...
