I got a "Decision Finalized" on Tuesday. Does this mean anything in particular?

Friend asking me to post: wait-listed at USC. How does he inform them he got into BU so hopefully they can accept him at USC?Dream Weave wrote:+1

It doesn't work that way. USC won't care about the other schools he is accepted at when deciding whether or not to pull him from the waitlist. That only matters when you're negotiating scholarship money.Hlscor wrote: Friend asking me to post: wait-listed at USC. How does he inform them he got into BU so hopefully they can accept him at USC?

yeah not to mention these schools are by and large taking a different caliber of student. Really bad idea.KingFish wrote:It doesn't work that way. damn, another 167 out of the woodwork! don't take it the wrong way, i just think all the 167s should just all "come out" cuz every new person is like one less acceptance for us 166sleepokman wrote:I am 167/3.5, just did the video thing as well. Hope it turns out ok.

anyone else surprised they didn't admit anyone off the waitlist today (that we know of)? kind of thought that they would since the first admitted waitlist deadline was last friday

yeah it sucks when you have a 166 with a 3.7 GPA being turned down in favor of a 167 with a much lower gpa.

I don't know who should be laughing ... the fact that you think you're over qualified yet seem oblivious to the law school admissions process is something to laugh at. Berkeley deserves you.Omnivalc wrote:172/3.85, rejected yesterday. Not trying to be a dick but LOLOLOLOL. I'll be posted at Berkeley #byeeee

If you look at his LSN there is obviously something frightfully wrong with his app. Berkeley just missed or glossed over whatever that was.UncleStew wrote:I don't know who should be laughing ... the fact that you think you're over qualified yet seem oblivious to the law school admissions process is something to laugh at. yeah it's very strange.. she should be a lock for everyone except stanford, yale and Harvard.. and yet everyone besides berkeley waitlisted/rejected her. There must be something wrong with her/his application.BigZuck wrote:If you look at his LSN there is obviously something frightfully wrong with his app. Berkeley just missed or glossed over whatever that was.UncleStew wrote:I don't know who should be laughing ... the fact that you think you're over qualified yet seem oblivious to the law school admissions process is something to laugh at. now someone mentioned that he/she is over qualified and that's why USC rejected her. I suppose that's possible but they admitted people with those stats early on.

He has a C&F issue according to his earlier posts. He said it was minor, but maybe he didn't do a good job of explaining and showing how he learned from it. Also USC only asks about convictions for felonies and misdemeanors. Most states have diversion programs or counseling programs for first time offenders so they don't get a criminal record. Perhaps the C&F issue was more severe than he let on.onionskin wrote:Is that a typo?Omnivalc wrote:172/3.85, rejected yesterday. Not trying to be a dick but LOLOLOLOL. First, I'm not even convinced this guy is legitimate. Regardless, his cocksure attitude combined with this cf issue is going to give him fits. Does Berkeley inquire about c/f issues?jdmonkey wrote:He has a C&F issue according to his earlier posts. Thankfully he won't be spoiling the USC class of 2016.

Yes Boalt has the same C&F questions as USC. But some schools only care whether an applicant can pass the bar, while others take C&F more seriously and try to get a feel for the morality of the applicant.UncleStew wrote:First, I'm not even convinced this guy is legitimate. So is this whole "our waitlist is not ranked" thing a lie and law schools just go down their waitlists based on LSAT score and then GPA?
