I didn't even realize that this was the case, but I checked their class profile:
http://www.law.harvard.edu/prospective/ ... ofile.html
76% of the class 1 year out of college, and 54% with 2 years. Not as strict about it as NU, but clearly work experience plays a big factor in their decision. They might be emphasizing it even more this year.

Yeah they definitely seem to be, based on the rejects thus far. I'm anticipating my own because of that even though I'm at/above both medians and was initially expecting a waitlist.Mr. Somebody wrote:I didn't even realize that this was the case, but I checked their class profile:

Sounds like resume updates and grades are the only things worth sending.1212 wrote:H rep wrote: If you have done something different or interesting with your time since you applied, that can be helpful as well.

I wonder what the average school's 1+ and 2+ years of WE percentages are for comparisonsnehpets wrote:Yeah they definitely seem to be, based on the rejects thus far. Good point, I just looked at a couple T14's: 37% K-JD's at Penn, 33% at NYU, 35% at UVA. Lower than I thought it would be, but still significantly higher than 24% at HarvardJamMasterJ wrote:I wonder what the average school's 1+ and 2+ years of WE percentages are for comparisonsnehpets wrote:Yeah they definitely seem to be, based on the rejects thus far. Dug up the T6 out of curiosity:JamMasterJ wrote:I wonder what the average school's 1+ and 2+ years of WE percentages are for comparison
Yale 2014 - 80% 1+, 35% 2+
Stanford 2014 - 76% 1+, 34% 3+
Harvard 2014 - 76% 1+, 54% 2+
Columbia 2014 - couldn't find, says 35% came directly from college, 22% are 25 or older
Chicago 2014 - "over 60%" have 1-2+ years WE
NYU 2014 - 68% 1+, 12% 5+
So looks like CCN are more K-JD friendly than HYS.

Not necessarily. Keep in mind that the number of applicants applying to each school with work experience varies, so the percentages may not reflect accurately how "friendly" each school is for people being K-JD.Nelson wrote:Dug up the T6 out of curiosity:JamMasterJ wrote:I wonder what the average school's 1+ and 2+ years of WE percentages are for comparison

In a discussion with the dean of admission for Yale, a question regarding their high percentage of people accepted with work experience was asked, and the dean said that in his opinion, it only reflected the applicant pool. So, at least for Yale, approximately 80% of their applicants have work experience. I would not worry about it too much imho.

Regarding holds, I wonder how significant changes to resumes have to be in order to make a difference. I’ve added a few small things to mine, but nothing that will really blow their minds.

I know this question has been asked... But now that I'm "complete," when should I start panicking if I don't hear?
I've been trying to read through older pages in this thread to figure out the average time between the Complete email and a KB1 notification (if at all), but I can't seem to aggregate many data points... I did read 2 months is pretty much the longest, but what is more standard?

You could always put "First TLS'er Accepted to Stanford Law" under your accolades section. That would give them the hint

+1. I also get the impression that a lot of complete email went out this morning. (I submitted 12/5 and went UR 12/22).hypothalamus wrote:I know this question has been asked... But now that I'm "complete," when should I start panicking if I don't hear?

I received an e-mail requesting a KB1 the day after I got my Complete e-mail. But if I remember correctly, some people got them about a week after and others, like you said, waited longer. So I'm not sure if there is any time to start freaking out.. just try to be positive and hopefully you will hear soon!countercouper wrote:+1. A bit late in responding to this, but since I've recently done a lot of research on the topic, I thought I'd chime in.
Here's the info- http://www.law.harvard.edu/current/sfs/ ... scale.html
It actually all depends on how much your loan payments are. If you make under $45,000, Harvard pays your entire loan payment. Above that threshold, you are expected to contribute a certain percentage of your income, on a sliding scale, toward your loan payment. So if you have a low loan payment, it's possible you won't qualify for assistance even if you aren't making a ton of money. On the other hand, if you have a larger loan payment you could qualify even if you make over $80K.Curious1 wrote: I believe the figure was 80,000 to qualify for LIPP
