I'm in the same boat -- 3.84/168, non-URM, complete 11/03. I've been waitlisted at both Chicago and Columbia in the past month, expecting the same from NYU...really, really keeping my fingers crossed.

yup, there are a few of us. i'm assuming we're headed for waitlist-ville come april.
I don't know...but I'm thinking it's a waitlist too. You guys mind sharing numbers so we get an idea on our group?
I'm 165/3.8 URM, with what I believe are some interesting softs.

I'm 168/4.02 with solid softs...still waiting....WTF?

4/1 is for need-based financial aid only. the invitation email to apply for merit aid states a 2/24 deadline.democrattotheend wrote:I thought it was April 1st. That's what it said on the website. Where did you get 2/24?BenJ wrote:The invitation to the Dean's scholarship came via email separately from the offer of admission. In any case, the deadline for submitting the merit aid application has passed (was 2/24).split22 wrote:Application received 2/9. Never went complete. Letter of acceptance dated 2/23.
Very pleased, but there was no invitation to apply for scholarships (as I believe others have gotten).

Don't lose hope Gah. A dear friend of mine scored low 160s on first LSAT and then low 170s 2nd LSAT. They got into NYU. I also had an LSAT re-take. I hope you get your offer of admission soon.gahthelaw wrote:i'm more or less at their medians, but I have an LSAT retake which I know they hate.

I'm also an LSAT retaker. Low 160s on the first, low 170s on the second. 3.7+ GPA, non-URM.
If you look at LSN it seems as if there are historically very few T14 acceptances in March. I'm still waiting on NYU, UVA, Penn, Cornell, Chicago, Berkeley, Northwestern after applying mid-late Dec. Should be a suspenseful month ahead.
Regarding the merit aid deadline of 2/24, I have a hard time they wouldn't extend that for people admitted after 2/24.

That was for the named scholarships, I believe. The merit/need-based aid application is due 4/1.existenz wrote:I'm also an LSAT retaker. Low 160s on the first, low 170s on the second. 3.7+ GPA, non-URM.

So if you haven't heard back about any named scholarships by now, does that mean you didn't get one?CG614 wrote:That was for the named scholarships, I believe. Re: NYU 2010
So I have very very very little chance of getting into NYU, but a few people with my LSAT and TTT GPA have been accepted. Should I bother sending them an LOCI saying they are my absolute top choice, blah blah blah, or just wait for my rejection letter? (I want to work in PI.)

Re: NYU 2010
Ditto to that, NYU please take me tomorrow. What happened to the 3.5+ 172 love you guys showed last year when it seemed to be auto-admit? What have I done to offend you so? Please please take meeee, you're my top choice! Ps, does NYU tend to send out acceptances until the end of march, or after a certain point is it only waitlists and rejections

Re: NYU 2010
Honestly, I am not 100% sure, as I didn't not apply for those (I submitted my app after 1/1). But I think there was some kind of 2/24 deadline for something with regards to those scholarships. The NYU Institutional Aid form is not due to 4/15 (I was off about the 4/1 date), per the admitted students site.democrattotheend wrote:So if you haven't heard back about any named scholarships by now, does that mean you didn't get one?CG614 wrote:That was for the named scholarships, I believe. "April 15th Deadline for completing the Institutional Financial Aid Application."
From what I understand, that is for Merit and Need-Based Aid.

I am dreading a future Wednesday when no one is accepted and all hope is lost. I pray today isn't that day.
