GPA counts only like 10%? What's more important is peer view stuff. But who knows which factor made the ranking drop...derekne wrote:Anyone care to speculate on what Columbia will do to get back to the #4 spot? The easiest way would seem to be by bumping up the GPA median considering you can't really bump up the LSAT median any higher than 172. All of the other factors that worked against Columbia seem to just be a function of it being a bigger school than Chicago which make them difficult to change. Just as an FYI I'm attending Columbia,(happily), in the fall so this is just more out of curiosity. Anyone who thinks this #5 spot is permanent is kidding themselves.

Is there a time frame when we are expecting a massive wave of rejections? At this point would just like them to make it official...

It's through your mycolumbia account. Log in and click check app statusthrowaway2016gjdm wrote:Apparently, I don't even have a status checker... Has this happened to anyone else? I created a Columbia Law account before applying. Maybe that has to do with it? I recall having a status checker, and now I don't. Hmm.
It's different than the usual ones and doesn't update after your app is complete

Just got notice I was put in reserve. Surprised because I thought for sure they would hit me with a ding.

Reserved this morning. Pretty happy since I thought I'd be dinged. Any speculation on the number of people who might get admitted from reserve this cycle?

I love how Columbia tells us that its waitlist is not ranked.
It whispers sweet nothings into our ears.
even my mother was put on Reserve and she ain't even apply. tf?

Does anyone know if Columbia gives out merit scholarships besides the Butler/Hamilton? If so, how does one go about trying to get an award? It would obviously be really helpful to receive some kind of funding from CLS.

Re: Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017)
I briefly stalked past threads and it seems as though the (very painfully few) people who get accepted off hold hear back first week or two in April, and everyone else got put on the waitlist at once on exactly the date they said they would tell you by....mtf612 wrote:From previous year threads, mid-April through the end of April.
