Columbia c/o 2020 applicants (2016-2017) Forum

Anyone care to speculate on what Columbia will do to get back to the #4 spot? The easiest way would seem to be by bumping up the GPA median considering you can't really bump up the LSAT median any higher than 172. All of the other factors that worked against Columbia seem to just be a function of it being a bigger school than Chicago which make them difficult to change. Just as an FYI I'm attending Columbia,(happily), in the fall so this is just more out of curiosity. Anyone who thinks this #5 spot is permanent is kidding themselves.

GPA counts only like 10%? What's more important is peer view stuff. But who knows which factor made the ranking drop...

Apparently, I don't even have a status checker... Has this happened to anyone else? I created a Columbia Law account before applying. Maybe that has to do with it? I recall having a status checker, and now I don't. Hmm.

Does anyone know if Columbia gives out merit scholarships besides the Butler/Hamilton? If so, how does one go about trying to get an award? It would obviously be really helpful to receive some kind of funding from CLS.

I briefly stalked past threads and it seems as though the (very painfully few) people who get accepted off hold hear back first week or two in April, and everyone else got put on the waitlist at once on exactly the date they said they would tell you by....

Whats everyone opinion on sending a Letter of Continued Interest if I havent heard back. Its been about 2 months and radio silence. Thinking about sending a LOCI even though havent been put on reserve
