Good luck on everyone's upcoming interview. And to those who finished their interview today, welcome to the JS1----?-->JS2 waiting game. It's been exactly a week since my JS1. Hope you all did well.
And yeah I agree with worm, don't think I would've mentioned TLS, sinf. lol

But dammit, Harvard, I'm still waiting for my 1/2 application to be complete!

I submitted 12/23 and went complete today...at least I think. i was expecting an email so I didn't look at it until now. Does the status checker switch to UR or stay at Complete?wert3813 wrote:BOO I still haven't. This is probably appropriate grounds to call and email everyone working in the admissions office right?ph5354a wrote:I submitted on 1/3 and just went complete (via status checker, didn't get an email) today. Wouldn't necessarily help. I submitted on the 3rd and have not gone complete yet. Is there any rhyme or reason to the order in which applications are deemed Complete? So arbitrary...TripTrip wrote:Whaaaat? I should have submitted on the third instead.

Anyways, I'm in the same boat as you--complete in mid-november, haven't heard anything yet. My guess is that the silence indicates uncertainty about whether we will be held or offered an interview.

Complete since first week of December as well. Hoping there really is some method to this madness.robot_socrates wrote:Robot_Socrates approves of your Plato reference.txdude45 wrote:wow. i guess i'm gonna be chained to a rock watching shadows for awhile, lol.trojandave wrote:Since mid October. relax and enjoy the ridetxdude45 wrote:So..... We're a little past this, but not only was I not added the day before my JS1, I wasn't added at all. AND JS showed up five minutes late. Obviously I was freaking out but I figured there was nothing that I could do about it. I got the add/phone call basically simultaneously (not sure if I had to accept the add before the call could go through or not). Anyway it probably would've made me feel better to call them after not receiving the add 24 hours prior, but it all worked out...

JS was also 5 minutes late for my interview, as well. I'm glad I wasn't the only one with that experience...Yukos wrote:We're a little past this, but not only was I not added the day before my JS1, I wasn't added at all. Same, but the email said to expect the call within 5 minutes of the scheduled time period so she was just in time before I started to worry.clouded.memory wrote: JS was also 5 minutes late for my interview, as well. I'm glad I wasn't the only one with that experience...

That sounds like a little much, but I did record myself BEFORE the JS1 to practice.wert3813 wrote:So lets hear it. Who is so obsessive that you strongly considered recording (in some way, perhaps even just on your phone sitting next to your computer) your JS1 so you could listen to it later.
Come on TLS fess up.

1) Err...pretty sure it's just you, lol.wert3813 wrote:So lets hear it. Who is so obsessive that you strongly considered recording (in some way, perhaps even just on your phone sitting next to your computer) your JS1 so you could listen to it later.

2) I don't see the point of this. You'll just be obsessing over every little thing you may have done wrong. Only use I see is if you're planning on using it to prepare for an interview with another school.
3) This may just be my opinion, but I think it's somewhat unethical to do voice recordings of JS or KB without their consent. I know every time I have to call a bank or something, they have to play the "this call may be recorded for quality control purposes" message before recording me.

Ok...I feel like I've been trolled lol.wert3813 wrote: 1. Not even complete yet, doubt I will get a JS1.
2. There is basically no point. None. Except to freak out later. But you and I both know that that wouldn't stop someone from doing it.
3. Completely agree. In some states I'm pretty sure it's illegal.

No, I understand. But whatever the case, I hope this exchange has convinced anyone considering it to refrain from doing so.wert3813 wrote:Eh wasn't the goal. Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I learned this from a state attorney who was preparing a big drug case: Recording a conversation isn't illegal as long as one person having the conversation is aware it is being recorded. Recording conversations as an outsider to the conversation is illegal.
That said, its still creepy (and useless in these circumstances) and will only make you obsess over the interview needlessly.
Edit: it actually would've been illegal since Massachusetts requires two-party consent to record a conversation. No idea how it works if the two parties are in different states....
FYI, I'm obviously very bored at work right now.
